It Is Official, Obama Says No Wrongdoing
Dec 16, 2008 Political
When the story about Governor Blagojevich trying to sell Obama’s Senate seat broke, The Sainted One said that he did not have any contact with the governor. He then said that none of his people had contact. For several days there were pictures of Obama and Blagojevich together. There were stories of the two meeting and David Axelrod said that he knew that the two had met. He said it a month before it mattered and then retracted it when Obama contradicted it with a lie.
In any event, Obama assured us that there were no contacts and then he said he was going to have an internal investigation which he knew would show there had been no contacts. After four days he completed the investigation and what do you know, Obama said there were no inappropriate contacts. He had to change from no contacts to no inappropriate contacts because it is now well known that his would be Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, was caught on tape discussing the issue.
Perhaps Obama can explain how it is that he had no contact with Blagojevich when he [Obama] sent Emanuel to discuss the candidates who would be acceptable to him. If Obama sent him then it is contact. It is not face to face contact but Emanuel contacted Blagojevich on behalf of Obama and with his full knowledge. Therefore, Obama had contact with Blagojevich specifically for the purpose of discussing the Senate seat, a topic Obama says was never discussed.
Obama’s desire to be the candidate of change, the guy who brings a new kind of politics to Washington is a pipe dream now. He lied to the public. He and his people might not have done anything wrong but he lied about the contact. His first instinct was to lie which makes him no different than 99.9% of all the other politicians.
It took him four days to investigate and that should say something because, as pointed out at NRO:
Truth Is Available Immediately, But Lies Take Time To Coordinate
They had to make sure they knew what Emanuel said and did and they had to make sure that they all had it straight that The Sainted One has no dirt under his nails.
One last thing that is very convenient. It has been alleged that Fitzgerald kept hush-hush about certain aspects of the investigation prior to the election so as not to hurt Obama’s chances. Now, according to Obama, Fitzgerald wants him to wait until the week of the 22nd to release the results of the internal investigation. Obama will be on vacation and people will be wrapped up in last minute Christmas shopping. This should pretty much bury whatever he found out.
Looks like Barry is getting his very own Fitzmas present…

Is That Smell Around Obama From The Illinois Sewer?
Dec 13, 2008 Political
Governor Rod Blagojevich’s public exposure of the crime in Illinois politics has given us insight into the mind of the liberals who supported Barack Obama. When Patrick Fitzgerald was going strong in the Valerie Plame case the liberals were like sharks in bloody water. They could not wait to see what he had to say about George Bush and the people around him. They had orgasms thinking about Bush administration officials being frog marched out in chains. The heavy activity happened around Christmas and the liberals were calling it a “Merry Fitzmas.” Fitzgerald knew who disclosed Plame’s not so secret identity in the first three days but he ignored that and kept going. He finally got Scooter Libby on perjury though if the investigation had stopped when Fitzgerald had discovered the “leak”, Libby would never have been convicted.
Now, Fitzgerald is hot and heavy in Governor Blago’s crimes and though it is around Christmas there is little of the Merry Fitzmas feeling going around, at least on the left.
Blago is accused of trying to sell Barack Obama’s Senate seat to the highest bidder. Blago is upset that he was arrested because he figures he could have gotten top dollar for the seat since Obama hardly used it. The extent of the corruption is unknown at this time but speculation is that it reaches far into the Obama circle of advisers. The left refuses to believe that Obama or his people were aware of any of this and cite Fitzgerald’s statement as proof. Fitzgerald said:
“…there’s no reference in the complaint to any conversation involving the president-elect or indicating that the president-elect was aware of it.” Media Matters
The liberal media, that went absolutely nuts in convicting Bush officials in the Plame affair (in the court of public opinion), are quick to point out Fitzgerald’s words as proof that Obama is not involved. The truth is, Fitzgerald only said that there is no reference to any Obama involvement in the complaint. That does not mean Obama was or was not involved, it only means that any involvement he might or might not have is not mentioned in the complaint against Blago. This parsing of words has escaped the left just as Clinton’s parsed words did for eight long years. Obama came from the sewer that is Illinois politics and he certainly has a few turds stuck to him.
Despite the media’s interpretation of Fitzgerald’s words, there is evidence that at least some in Obama’s circle are involved. Whether Obama is or not remains to be seen but he will be as protected now as he was when he was campaigning. Michelle Obama is referred to on page 64 of the indictment. There is an indication that Blago spoke with someone representing Obama and the fact that Blago knew that Obama would not pay to play begs the question of how he knew it without speaking to someone.
There was speculation that Rahm Emanuel was the one who turned Blago in but this appears to be a ruse to cover actual involvement. The tough guy ballerina has tap danced around this issue because there is indication that he spoke with Blago on behalf of Obama. Obama said that he was shocked at what happened and that he would not comment on the issues until an internal investigation was completed to find out what his people knew but assured everyone that none of them were involved. How does he know this if the investigation has not been completed. It would have been much wiser for Obama to say he had confidence that no one was involved but that he did not know for sure and was looking into it. If it turns out that one of his people was involved, Obama will be seen as a liar.
Well, he might not by the media who will excuse it as someone doing something behind his back. Obama cannot be allowed to fail and he cannot be held to the same standards the left and its media wing demanded of George Bush. Chris Matthews has already told us that it was his job to ensure Obama succeeds. How objective does anyone think he will really be? Hell, the media have already called the Blago incident fodder for the right wing smear machine. The left would never do that. No, just ask DeLay, Foley, Bush, Rove, Libby, etc…
Jesse Jackson Jr, son of a race baiting poverty pimp and so called civil rights aficionado by the same name, was mentioned in the indictment as well. He was candidate #5 for the Senate seat and the one Blago felt was willing to play the game. Jr has stated that he was not involved in any pay to play scheme but he has retained a lawyer. Jackson Sr stated that he was not an emissary mentioned in the indictment and that he was not involved. Sr has been involved in countless shake down schemes throughout his career so it is not inconceivable that he was working to get his son a Senate seat. All this takes away from Obama and what he did or did not know, which is the key.
You see, the left loves to ask that question. What did [insert Republican name here] know and when did he know it? The same standard needs to be applied to Obama and we deserve straight answers. The public deserves a media that will go after this story with the same fervor it demonstrated in the Plame case.
It is interesting that these issues are rearing their ugly heads before the anointed one even takes office but certainly not unexpected from those who paid attention to more than the liberal media.
I think that Obama is tangentially involved in this issue and that he has other political misdeeds that might come to light. Rahm Emanuel is certainly involved in all this and when the full breadth of this investigation is known, he might be an embarrassment to The One.
In any event, this is not some rendition of a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy as those on the left would have people believe. This is an issue that is the result of the corruption that permeates Illinois politics and that corruption, at this time, is full of Democrats who have connections to the illegitimate so to be president elect.
Is there any doubt that the next 4 years will be full of scandals?
The number might make the Clinton scandals pale in comparison…
Obama; Change we can believe in or no change from the corruption that raised him? Does anyone believe that as far and wide as corruption extends in Illinois, that some of the many Illinois insiders Obama has around him are not tainted? Does anyone believe Obama grew up in that atmosphere and left unscathed?
At least he has a reason to sneak a cigarette…

Auto Bailout Fails, Moonbats Come Unhinged
Dec 12, 2008 Political
The plan to provide the US auto industry a bailout (bridge loans) failed last night when the Senate could not muster enough Republican support to get the bill through. I am glad the bill failed because taxpayer money should not be spent propping up companies. They are private businesses and they should succeed or fail on their own. The foreign companies that manufacture cars in the US are doing much better than the Big Three and at least part of that has to do with the companies having more affordable labor because the labor pool is not unionized.
Many years ago the foreign auto makers (particularly the Japanese) made terrible products. They got good gas mileage but they were not very good cars. Detroit was putting out better products (but they used a lot of gas) and the companies were making money hand over fist. During this time the unions made a number of demands and the companies capitulated. When the union started talking about strikes they got what they wanted because the company needed the labor to keep making huge sums of money. The union labor costs the companies about $70 per hour when wages and benefits are figured in. This is 20 or 30 dollars more than non union companies.
Over the years, the Japanese started making better cars (as did other countries) and they eventually took a bite out of the US business. The Big Three still account for about 50% of sales in our country but they are selling fewer cars and they take a beating because they cannot compete on cost. The foreign companies make more money because it costs them less to produce their products. The companies now have huge union overhead but much less income. The problem is, the union hates to make concessions.
The Republicans in the Senate wanted the union workers to take an hourly wage cut. Since they get great benefits the cut would not be as bad as it might for workers in other industries that pay a higher share of the benefit costs. The union said they would take a pay cut but not until 2011, when their current contract is up for renegotiation. This is unacceptable because the problem is NOW. They were willing to wait until 2011 because they feel the economy will have rebounded and they could negotiate for higher wages and never have had to suffer the cut. The Republicans want the cut now. Besides, if the Democrats pass card check the non union companies might be unionized by then and they will all be paid inflated wages.
As one might expect, the moonbats have become unhinged. Christopher Dodd railed about how it was going to hurt the working class and that it was wrong to keep the companies from getting the money. Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm said that it was un-American for the Senators to vote against the bailout and Michael Moron said that the blood sucking Republicans stuck it to the Blue Collar workers while discussing all the ways the government could have voted to fix this problem. These ideas were expressed earlier by him when he opined that the government should buy the auto companies and run them. Michael also expressed his outrage at the idea that Wall Street was bailed out but not the workers as he intimated that the Republicans were only interested in helping the wealthy. Barney Frank weighed in but does he have any credibility left?
Dodd did not care about the middle class when he was helping his criminal friends enact laws that caused the financial meltdown and made them very rich. Governor Granholm thinks it is un-American for our government to stay out of private business when it is truly un-American (and extremely Socialist) for the government to get involved in private business and that includes buying private businesses. Michael Moron is a Socialist so he would like to see that happen. As for blood sucking, the union blood suckers have been bleeding the companies dry for decades and now they are paying for their own greed. Certainly management has a lot to do with the demise of the companies but the union is just as guilty. The foreign companies seem to be doing better with lower wages and they still seem to be turning a profit. Perhaps the lack of union overhead is the difference.
More than 50% of the country does not want to see the auto makers bailed out. An even larger percentage did not want to see Wall Street bailed out. That did not stop them from doing it and that might have cost some on election day. The reality is, the money does not belong to the government. It is taxpayer money and it is the duty of government to spend it wisely. It does not matter what Michael Moron or Governor Granholm think because it is not their money to spend and it is not government’s to spend. It is money that has been confiscated from hard working people who cannot be put in a job pool receiving 95% of their wages when there is no work like the UAW workers can (Moore thinks it is bad they had to give this practice up). It is typical of liberals to want to pay people not to work and job banks are no different than welfare except the pay is better. One Chrysler employee spent his time with no work on the beach in Hawaii.
The screams from the moonbats are now in the direction of George Bush. They want him to intervene and use the financial bailout money to help the auto industry. That money was not intended to be used to bailout the auto industry but they want Bush to use it for that and he is considering doing just that. For eight years moonbats called Bush the dumbest man on the planet and they criticized everything he did. Now they want him to use his wisdom to find a way to fix the auto industry by circumventing the law. I would not be surprised if they investigated him for it when all is said and done.
The auto companies should make it or break it on their own. If they go under and people lose their jobs it will be rough but that is what happens in business, especially when the business is saddled with high labor costs and government mandates to build cars people do not want (who really wants an electric car that only gets 40 miles on a charge).
It is not up to government to meddle in private business. We need to get back to having them do what they are supposed to do under the Constitution and nothing more but FWIW, I don’t think there will be rioting if the bailout somehow succeeds as Senator DeMint does.
I am no Constitutional scholar but I am sure that Dodd, Moore, Frank and Granholm will not find anything in the Constitution that allows the government to involve itself in private business.

Wanted: Senator, No Experience Necessary
Dec 11, 2008 Political
It will be interesting to see the number of left wing lunatics who will rationalize Caroline Kennedy’s qualification to take the Senate seat being vacated by Hillary Clinton. Caroline Kennedy has no political experience other than she comes from a family full of people who have sponged off the government and have never worked real jobs in their lives. If they claim she learned by being there then it will contradict the argument that Hillary had gained no experience just by being the wife of the president. That is what the Obama campaign put out and what his supporters ran with (I happen to agree with that assessment).
There are a lot of folks who are really on board with the idea of Caroline Kennedy going to the Senate. They do not care that she has absolutely NO experience whatsoever. The very people who are in love with the idea of her serving are dismissing her lack of experience as insignificant and saying that it would be refreshing to have a regular person who is not a DC insider serving. These are the same morons who blasted Sarah Palin because they viewed her as unqualified. Palin’s regular, outside the beltway, persona was off putting to the elitist twerps who dug through trash to see what they could get on her. This was mostly because of fear but it shows the double standard that the left employs. They are good at it because the media are always willing accomplices when it comes to liberal hypocrisy.
One moron at Huffington said there was no comparison because Palin was running to be the next in line for the presidency and Kennedy would be one of a hundred. The reader is supposed to believe that Kennedy’s lack of experience is OK but Palin’s is not because of the seriousness of the job. This totally ignores the fact that Palin has political experience and it ignores the fact that she has more than Barack Obama or Joe Biden when it comes to executive service.
The morons who make this argument ignore the absolute fact that they supported Barack Obama with his lack of experience for the position of president. They voted for a man who has less experience than Palin while stating that she was not qualified to be next in line for the job. This is the stupidity that comes from the liberal mind. They lack the ability to use logic and to reason things out. As long as they win and can push their socialist agenda, they are happy.
As for Kennedy, I really don’t care who New York puts in that seat but I am opposed to political dynasties. The Kennedys have been in American politics for decades and it seems that more and more of them get elected and earn their livings off the backs of the taxpayers. We need to end this cycle of family members succeeding family members and put the Congress back in the hands of the people.
Does America really need another Kennedy in government? I will argue that she is unqualified but only because of the way the left went after Palin. The fact is that many are not very qualified when they are first elected. But if the left can deride the experience of Palin while ignoring the lack thereof with regard to Obama and Caroline Kennedy then it is only fitting we point this out and hold them to their own standard.
Will the hypocrisy of the left never end?

Kennedy is Ill but Still a Politician
May 20, 2008 Opinion, Political
Having said that, I imagine that this might be how things played out over the weekend. Senator Kennedy had a seizure and an ambulance was called. He had another seizure in route to the hospital. He was briefly at a small hospital before being airlifted to Mass General, a very good hospital. They ran some tests and did a CAT scan of his head. It was at this time they discovered his tumor. The doctors informed him that he had a tumor and they needed to do more tests to grade it and see how far along it was.
Dr.: Senator, do you want us to release any of this information?
Kennedy: How long will it take to do the tests you want to do?
Dr.: The tests can be accomplished in a few hours and we should have results back no later than Tuesday.
Kennedy: Tuesday huh. Let’s not say anything right now except that you are running tests. You see, Clinton is going to trounce Obama in Kentucky but he will win in Oregon.
Dr.: Everyone already knows that. It is all they talk about on the news but what does it have to do with your condition.
Kennedy: Its like this. I wait until Tuesday afternoon or so to disclose that I have a tumor. That bombshell will dominate the news and overshadow Clinton’s big win. All they will talk about is me. Then, since Oregon is three hours behind their polls will close when it is around 10pm in the East and most folks will be in bed so Wednesday will be all about Obama.
Dr.: I am not particularly comfortable playing politics with your health.
Kennedy: Now look here. This is my health information and I say it cannot be released until Tuesday and if it is released any earlier I will take you for a ride in my car, if you know what I mean. It is all about politics and I intend to take the thunder away from Clinton and help little Barack Osama, er, Obama er Osama Obama out.
Dr.: Sigh
Ted Kennedy has been a politician most of his life and it is all he knows. In all seriousness though, he is very sick and the limited information we are getting does not seem particularly encouraging. Some say he has a chance to live about three more years and others say, given his age and the assumption that it is inoperable, he has about a year.
I have no love for the man and cannot stand his politics. I feel he has been bad for America despite the accolades he is getting from everyone. However, he is a human being and I would not be so uncaring as to show joy over his illness like the liberals do every time Dick Cheney goes to the hospital. They hold gleeful death watches and hope this time it is for real. I cannot do that no matter how much I dislike the man.
My prayers are with him and his family. I pray he recovers but my experience tells me that is not likely and that he does not have much longer to be here. I would suggest that he resign from the Senate and enjoy life with his family doing the things he likes to do and die happy and with dignity. I am sure he will consider that but not before he helps Barry defeat Hillary.
