Obama Would Not Take His Own Health Plan
Jun 25, 2009 Political
Barack Obama had his big infomercial on ABC last night and it looks like those poll numbers that are slipping are for real as the show had the lowest ratings of any show of the night including some reruns. Perhaps people are just tired of seeing him day in and day out. Since he is pushing this crisis in health care through and wants it done yesterday and since those without health insurance think of nothing else I would have figured he would have had 46 million viewers. I mean, he was talking about health insurance for that number of uninsured (though that is not an actual number).
He struggled the entire evening and could not make the sale. He had a hard time explaining what he wanted and he was vague in a number of areas. He received tough questions and was not very good at answering them. These are not my observation because I did not watch it. I am basing this on the observations of those who did and on the view of the network that carried it.
Obama gave away a little secret. It has long been speculated that the wealthy will not be bound by this (and Congress will be exempt) because they can afford what they want. They will not be denied care because it costs too much. Obama fits in that category. When he was asked if his family needed some treatment or care that was not covered would he live by that decision. He said that he wants his family to get the best care. In other words, as a millionaire he will ensure his wife and kids are cared for government plan be damned.
The bill is loaded with double talk and methods to disqualify the insurance you already have. It is designed to make you take government health care.
On the campaign trail Obama promised that if you liked your plan you could keep it. He said he would ensure you were not put on the government’s plan. Now he is saying that if your employer drops coverage then he can’t control that. He promised that you could keep it so he should find a way to keep that promise. Perish the thought. He wants us all on the government plan.
A commenter here likes to say that those without insurance or those with inadequate insurance are a burden to us all. We are all paying for them and they are a drain on society. Even if you pay your own medical bills he claims you are a burden and that your risks are built into his premiums (that is how a risk business works. Same for car insurance, homeowner’s insurance, etc).
What seems to be missing is that with government run insurance those of us who pay taxes ARE paying for everyone else’s insurance. A government run program is paid for with our tax money so we will be paying for the health care anyway.
The British hate their system and the Canadians have it no better. Those who are satisfied with it are the ones who do not get sick. Once they get ill and require a lot of care they rapidly find out how bad it is.
Obama failed to seal the deal. He made it clear that he would not adhere to it if it meant his family could not get care.
If it is not good enough for Obama and his family then it is not good enough for the rest of us. We are his employers and he should not forget that.
Say no to Socialized medicine.
Big Dog salute to Stop the ACLU.

Are THESE Saved Jobs?
Jun 10, 2009 Political
Today’s the day- oh boy, I’ll bet the workers at the Chrysler dealerships who voted for Hussein are feeling a bit betrayed by the beloved leader. Oops— his bad. Yep, today, at least one third of all Chrysler Dealerships, with their salesmen, repair crews, make ready and body repair people, all are out on the street. Hussein must be so proud. Yes, in one bold stroke, he put another several hundred thousand people onto welfare. Democracy at work, as he does that voodoo he does so well.
As of today, those dealerships may not operate as Chrysler new-car showrooms, nor may they provide warranty service. The two courtroom triumphs were clear wins for the automaker, which filed for bankruptcy April 30 and has been blazing through what can be a drawn-out process.
They are also a victory for the Obama administration. It has lent Chrysler $8.6 billion in bailout funds and has pushed the automaker’s bankruptcy on a fast track, arguing that time is of the essence in ensuring the company stays in business. Under terms of its deal with Fiat, the sale of Chrysler into a new entity must be completed by Monday.

This is a total of 789 dealerships, and the reasons given are murky at best, and completely dishonest at worst. The fact that the dealerships have to actually buy the automobiles makes this a case of the government hindering commerce, something that should be unthinkable in a free market system, but as we have seen, Hussein wants to redistribute the wealth. You could see it in the way the government restructured the bankruptcy of Chrysler, and that of GM, giving the unions first grab at the candy, and shorting the creditors who by contract law rights, should have been first in line.
And now comes the flood- stuff flows downhill, and the dealers are at the bottom, and if you think Hussein cares about the dealers, think again.
The original motion to reject the dealers’ contracts was, in our view, extremely overreaching and appeared to preempt multiple state franchise laws,” said Stephen Lerner, an attorney representing roughly 340 of the targeted dealers. He and other lawyers argued for several hours Tuesday that the automaker’s decision to eliminate a quarter of its dealer body was capricious, unwarranted and arbitrary. Further, they contended, the automaker had not shown that doing so would improve its financial situation.
On May 14, the automaker notified the dealers slated for elimination that it would use the bankruptcy process to terminate their franchises Tuesday. Chrysler argued that its network of roughly 3,200 dealers was far too large, affecting profitability and customer service. In response, dealers sought to nullify the terminations or at least extend the deadline, giving them more time to unload inventories of vehicles and parts. But the bankruptcy judge, Arthur Gonzalez, soured those hopes. His ruling dictated that as of close of business Tuesday, those dealers would no longer be allowed to sell new Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles, perform factory warranty service or display signage indicating that they are Chrysler retail showrooms.

This is just another in the series of “Let’s see just how badly we can run this Nation.” Between this action, and the “Czars”, people Hussein appointed, who have noone but Hussein to be accountable to, we are on the way down the hill, with Hussein greasing the slide.
What will now happen, is that the jobless numbers will increase, and Hussein will use this CRISIS OF HIS OWN MAKING to ask for more power and more money, so he can do other stuff that doesn’t work either.
The man isn’t a man- he is ignorant, he is spineless (Yes, Virginia, he DID just tell Iran they could have nukes), and he is dedicated to the destruction of the Capitalistic system in this country. If you do nor believe this, just ask any dealer of American cars today- if they are not out of business, they are scared that they will be next.
And they will- no doubt of that- it’s only a matter of time.
On Friday, the automaker sent those dealers contracts guaranteeing reallocation of their remaining stock — amounting to roughly 26,000 vehicles as of last week, according to spokeswoman Carrie McElwee. But the automaker will charge dealers $350 for each car and truck that is reallocated, and in some cases the loss on the vehicles could be larger than that. McElwee said that closed dealers also would have the option of selling any remaining new cars on their own, but that they would not have access to any sales incentives, nor would they be able to advertise as Chrysler dealers.
But because dealers had been scrambling to unload vehicles, many had sold cars for a larger loss, leading to frustration among those selected for closure.
“We had another dealer come by who basically wanted us to lose 10% of invoice price on every car,” said Gary Kihs, general manager of Larry Menke Inc., a Chrysler dealer in Seaside, Calif.

Don’t you just love it when the government orders you to lose money on YOUR cars- talk about arm- twisting- I can tell that Hussein simply must have our best interests in mind when he hurts us so lovingly.
He amputates our businesses with all the subtlety of a Civil War Surgeon using an axe on someone’s leg.
At least give them something to bite down on.

I Vote For Never
May 29, 2009 Political
Barack Obama warned that if we do not get health care reform done by the end of the year we will not get it done. In keeping with his theme that everything is a crisis and must be done now, he told people that its now or never.
Obama wants to have government run health care along the lines of Medicare and the VA system neither of which is run efficiently. Both programs are top heavy with bureaucrats and are extremely costly. The system of reimbursement cheats physicians and has led some to opt out of accepting Medicare patients.
Given that government does not do anything efficiently or in a cost effective manner, I vote for never. The system needs to be revamped and needs less government regulation and control so the free market can allow insurance companies to be competitive. The requirements placed upon companies add unnecessary items to insurance packages and increase the cost. Additionally, people cannot compete across state lines and that too drives up the cost.
There are things that need to take place but having the government run things is not the answer.
They gave billions of dollars to Chrysler and GM which only delayed the inevitable filing of bankruptcy which left taxpayers high and dry.
We will never see that money again. With government and its slavish union followers running the companies they will surely fail. Government officials have little experience running a business and their actions are politically motivated. Look at how many dealerships where people donated to Republicans were shut down. Failing dealerships that gave lots of money to Democrats and particularly Obama are not being closed.
Business is no place for government. Health care is available for everyone. Sure, some folks will have to pay out of pocket but I am unaware of any provision in our Constitution that says I should be paying for someone else’s health care.
Everyone likes to say Obama is the answer. If Obama is the answer it must have been a stupid question.

Hunkerin’ Down
May 8, 2009 Political
Well, the day is coming that Barama will have a stranglehold on the capitalist system- the only way this could be averted would be if politicians found some testicular fortitude and opposed him and his posse in their quest to re- make America into the Socialist paradise they envision. Yeah, like that’s going to happen.
I have spoken to several liberals who just think this is not going to be the scenario I envision, even after I tell them the steps that must be taken to become socialist, and they AGREE that these things are happening.
Things such as converting the U.S. Federal loans for banking institutions from preferred, or non- voting stock, into common stock, effectively nationalizing the U.S. banking industry.
Dictating the salaries of executives, even those not directly attached to the TARP funds.
Nationalizing the auto industry to the benefit of the unions, and detriment of the investors, including the U.S. taxpayers, who will not get ANY of the 20- 30 billion dollars we will have put into the auto companies.
Even using the TARP funds was an unconscionable abuse of both taxpayer monies, and governmental power.
Not to mention giving billions to alleged “Community Groups” engaged in organized fraud and strong arm tactics benefitting Barama and his cronies.
Along the lines of do as we say, and not as we do, otherwise known as rank hypocrisy and/ or blatant lies, despite claiming that he loves the environment ( I doubt that he has ever been in a national park- nature abhors a vacuum)- his Inaugural emitted over 500 million pounds of Co2, and cost, in a lousy economic climate, 170 million, more than Bush’s Inaugural. What a hypocrite.
The truly disturbing thing is that Congress, which has traditionally held onto it’s power and legislative turf jealously, surrendering no ground to the Executive branch, has rolled over like a cur dog showing its belly in abject cowardice. The houses of Congress should act as a brake on the dictatorial demands of this megalomaniac, but instead, they seem to be mesmerized into tiny little yes- men (oh- and women too).
Well, I have done what I could to weather this sorry period in our nation’s history, transferring all my funds out of the bank I used (It took the TARP), and put it in a bank that was smart. I cashed my stock when it went from 14,000 to 13,000, and diversified into safer, and more lucrative areas. All my property is paid off, and I have a large veggie garden that, while it tears me to pieces to work it, still gives us a good yield. I have the ability to shoot game if I need to, and I am lucky- I can “Hunker Down”, as they say around here.
I feel for the people who are in apartments where they cannot rightly garden- if I was living in an apartment, i would organize people into a communal garden. Grow tomatoes on the back porch, or zucchini on the balconies. Trade veggies to hedge against the cost of food. In subdivisions, find out about backyard gardens- can you? If so, grow what you like, and what you can eat or trade with others.
Read books- I know, it seems anachronistic to even deal with books in the age of the computer, but it’s low on the energy usage scale, and you can use a book to level the legs on a table. Of course you can use one of Barama’s speeches to level the table also- that might just be it’s only useful purpose.
At any rate, there are alternatives to living as we have been, and you need to find them quickly, because we will not have this level of comfort again, possibly in our lifetimes, as long as Barama gets his policies enacted by his lapdog Congress. Third- world status, here we come.
You will need to learn to can vegetables and fruits, and read by candlelight- what the heck- Lincoln did it, I am sure that Barama feels that we can do it too, and we will need to as the “Green” technology doubles our energy bills and we can no longer afford to light our homes. But that’s OK, isn’t it, as long as Barama gets his way.
Gee, wouldn’t you hate to disappoint the great Barama?
This will just be like being trapped outside in a thunderstorm-
Just hunker down.

The First One Hundred Days
Apr 25, 2009 Political
April 29 will mark Barama’s first one hundred days in office. Gee, it seems like yesterday- we were full of hope, gleaming, fresh- washed faces turned towards the Sainted One, seeking his blessings—– oh wait- wrong delusion, that was the liberal version: Let’s try again.
It seems like yesterday, when people ran screaming into the streets, yelling the socialists are coming, the socialists are coming! Oh crud, it’s no nightmare, they really are here, and they are busy embedding themselves like a lyme- diseased tick into the backside of America, sucking the life out of free enterprise.
It is theft of not just money, which is criminal, a la Jack Murtha and his little airport, but hope, since people who want to start a small business will be told how much money they will be permitted to make before onerous taxes kick in, and these small business people have to pay for the socialistic programs Barry proposes. Those in government will be exempt from these petty things, of course- those rules are for the little people.
The fact that the banks who want to give back the TARP funds are not being allowed to do so is an unbelievable interference by government in our free enterprise system. It’s breathtakingly Mafia- like in its stench of extortion.
I was talking to one of the bankers I do business with- after all, I keep what little money I still have there, I might as well see if my bank took the TARP.
She told me that yes, they were “asked” in a very blunt way that they would take the money, even though they did not need the money.
Since then, especially since the rules changed, and the govt. had changed their “Preferred”, or non- voting stock to “common”, or voting stock, this bank had been trying to give the money back, but the government had refused to take it, saying that they had voting power, and they intended to use it.
This is unwarranted and illegal interference in free enterprise and the commerce of the United States, but the Barama administration believes that if they control the banks, they will control the nation.
They need to watch out- overreaching, extending tyrannical claws into this much of American life, could very well backfire.
Remember the Czars? Not the wimps that Barry appoints, the real deal, from Russia. It seems these people thought they could control the people also. The Czars, or as it should be spelled, the Tsars, thought that if they kept a lid on their people, kept them under strict control, they would stay in power.
Well, they were overthrown- seems the people wanted change they could believe in- instead they got totalitarian control under a different name, Communism. And this is coming again, just slower. No bloody corpses, just CEOs thrown out of their jobs, with the “people’s” government sitting in their seats. A bloodless usurping of power.
Same basic result, just a kinder, gentler coup.
Now, not many Presidents like to be judged on their first one hundred days- JFK even inserted words in his inaugural speech, to the effect that results might not be seen in his administration’ s term- and he was right, but unfortunately not for the reasons he thought.
The reason that the hundred days thing came about is that it is catchy, in a newsbite sense, but also because the public begins to get a sense of the direction the President wants the country to go. The direction THIS one wants the country to go, is so so wrong for this country- it turns on its ear the way that virtually everything in this country has worked in the last two hundred and thirty two years. Now, that’s a life style change that is fairly entrenched, and one that will be hard to change. You need to ask yourself- is this business model a good thing to change? After all, it worked fine until the Democrats began to alter the rules, just to try for more votes.
The Democrats were too dumb to know that there are rules for a reason, and it’s not the “class warfare” they talk about every time there is an election. These rules are there to protect BOTH SIDES in a transaction, and these rules are not arbitrary, they have been thought out over time.
The Democrats couldn’t have done better if they had meant to, except that while they are not smart enough to have done this intentionally, they WERE quick to take advantage of the opening they created, jumping into this chasm of uncontrolled greed and loose rules.
” Oh, WE will regulate this mess (that we created, but ssshhhhh-), don’t you worry. Plus, if you vote in the next five minutes, (because we can’t do this all day), we will throw in FREE, a faux tax rebate (which we will take back by charging more in hidden taxes) that will be yours. Just pay for shipping, handling and we will be glad to scrape off all those troublesome liberties and freedoms that hang around, and take control of your life, because we are the only people smart enough to know what is good for you. We will regulate what you eat, how cool or warm you can be in your own house, what medical care you need (because WE know just how much pain you can stand), we will tell you what your ideal weight should be, and how much beer you can drink, keep you from smoking cigarettes, cause you to drive less ( don’t EVEN think about seeing the USA in a Chevrolet), and make you eat your broccoli.
Sounds ridiculous, huh? Unfortunately it is not that far off of the mark- some of what I wrote is already in the works- the cigarette tax is designed not only to bring in money, but punish those who choose to smoke. Many of these people are poor, but Barry doesn’t care. He gets his cigarettes free. He doesn’t have to pay for the thousands of gallons of fuel he spews everywhere when he gets the urge for a photo op.
Make fast food prohibitive in cost with a sin tax, and a restrictive business environment. This is how they roll- they want to force change in people’s habits, because they truly believe that they know better than we the people just what we the people need.
What absolute arrogance, and all in the first one hundred days.
