Obama And Congress Shred The Bill Of Rights

The United States Congress and Barack Obama have codified what the Nazis did in World War II. They have taken the reprehensible act of rounding up free citizens and locking them away without the benefit of a trial and sanctioned it by passing a law that says it is OK.

The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for this year took the drastic steps of basically designating the US a battlefield and then allowing people (citizens and non citizens alike) to be taken into custody by the military, detained who knows where and kept as long as the government deems necessary.

Make no mistake, the provisions apply to US citizens the caveat is that the military is not required to take citizens into custody. They have permission to but are not required to. There is no absolutely clear language that forbids US citizens from being apprehended and held without trial and in violation of the rights enumerated in our Constitution. Senator Dianne Feinstein, a Democrat from California, introduced an amendment that would clearly forbid US citizens from being affected by this. It was soundly defeated so you know it applies to citizens.

This was passed by Republicans and Democrats alike and signed into law by Barack Obama. History will show that he was the one who signed a bill into law that shredded the Bill of Rights and turned America into the kind of country that led to the atrocities of Nazi German.

This is no right vs left issue. This issue involves all Americans and the attack on us is coming from both sides of the aisle. Republicans and Democrats worked together to do this to us and it matters little that the man who signed it into law is a Democrat. It would have been just as egregious if it had been done by George Bush (though I can’t help but wonder how many Democrats who remain silent would be screaming bloody murder had it been he) or any other Republican. This is an assault waged by the entire government on the citizens of the country.

The issue has hit a hot button among people from all political beliefs. Salon has an excellent article showing how this applies to US citizens and why it is bad. The ACLU is against this law (though I disagree with their position that it is illegal to hold anyone indefinitely regardless of their legal status) and US Representative Justin Amash has written in length about it. Natural News busts the myth about this not applying to citizens and the points made align with those of the other linked articles.

This Republic is in serious trouble and it is getting worse as those in office continue to clamp down on us and our freedom. We will not take this lying down but how many people will have to whisked away before the general population starts to pay attention? How long do we allow the people in office to have their way with us before we do something about it?

This coming November is a huge election and it is up to us to have a peaceful revolution at the ballot box. VOTE OUT EVERY PERSON WHO VOTED FOR THIS.

And that includes the man who signed it into law. Yes, I know he used a signing statement to express his concerns but signing statements are no more valid when he uses them than when Bush or anyone else used them. They do not bind anyone and have no weight should the issue be challenged. A president can do one of three things when presented with a bill. Using a signing statement is not one of the three. They do not bind future presidents and they do not bind the one who made the original statement. Obama could decide he would rather follow the law as written at any time and his signing statement would mean nothing. Like Executive Orders against abortion…

We have a chance to right the ship by getting rid of all these people and the first step is in the peaceful election process. Should that not work and should they start locking up Americans in violation of the Constitution, well it won’t be a good time in American history. Let’s just leave it at that.

Remember, the argument that if you did not do anything wrong you had nothing to worry about did not fly when the Patriot Act was being debated and it should not fly now.

Keep silent at your own peril but remember, First they came…

More Indoctrination Of College Kids

The indoctrination of our youth continues to inch down to lower and lower grades each and every year so that now we have children singing the state sponsored praises to Dear Leader Obama (one of the four greatest, by his own estimate) instead of actually learning valuable lessons of life. Sure, they learn how to game the welfare system, how to apply for and exploit the free lunch program and how to play the victim card before they know how to read but at least they are good servants of the regime.

No wonder so many of our youth have grown into people who think there is such thing as a free lunch. It is free to them but someone else paid for it. This is what the Occupy folks want, other people’s property (OPP).

The indoctrination has been going on for years in our alleged institutions of higher learning. It is even more evident today as Columbia University will now offer a class in Occupy Wall Street. The class will require some field work as students get to participate in the “movement”.

Imagine that, the kids will pay for a class and then they will be used as tools of the left to participate in the left’s anti government protests. This is pure genius on the part of the Socialists at Columbia. Offer a class on protesting and make kids pay for the class then use them to protest for you. Make them pay to work for you. Brilliant.

And the mush heads who attend this school will line up to participate. They should offer a class called Useful Idiots.

I have an issue here though. If this is all about the Occucpy movement and the idea that the man has the money and that the 1% needs to have it removed from them to give to others, shouldn’t Columbia be offering the class for free?

The EEOC has warned that requiring a high school diploma could run afoul of the ADA. I wonder if employers will be allowed to request college transcripts to see if their potential employee has taken a class on Occupying Wall Street.

Here is an idea for Columbia. How about you get some folks in your school to teach the Constitution. Not in the liberal, living document way, but in the manner in which it was written and intended to be used. There are plenty of folks qualified to teach that but you will likely not find them on your roster of professors.

They are too busy violating the rights of others as part of the FLEA Bag occupy movement.

He Scares Us Too Michelle

Michelle Obama was speaking to some school kids and she talked about them addressing their fears. She noted that some of the things the students face are scary and then said that being married to Barack Obama was a scary thing:

The first lady urged students not to let fear guide them after a student asked about being worried about going away to college.

“I mean this is scary,” she said. “Shoot, being married to Barack Obama? He’s got big plans. He’s always pushing us beyond our comfort zones, and I’m dragged along going, `What’s he doing now? No, not this.'” WTOP

Well Michelle, he scares us as well and for the same reasons. He has big plans that involve more government and the transition to Socialism and he pushes us beyond the comfort zones because he is anti American. He does not like our history and he does not respect the men who founded this nation.

He is scary because he feels entitled to the job and he feels he has the right to tell us how to live and what to do so much so that he is bypassing Congress to get what he wants.

He is a tyrant and while he is not physically imposing or physically scary, his plans and his dreams are scary.

And he needs to be stopped.

In 2012 we will put an end to his tyranny and that will end the scary nightmare for the nation.

You Michelle, have to divorce him to accomplish the same thing…

It Starts With Jokes

The left likes to manufacture a crisis and then react to it. A manufactured crisis is one sure way to get the mob on the left riled up so it reacts to the situation and then the liberal left in government can swoop in to save the day. One can never tell what the crisis will be or how it will start but sometimes things start out as a seemingly insincere gesture or “joke.” so they can see how things fly. If resistance is great then the issue is dialed back. If there is not a lot of resistance then it is time to press forward. Often the Overton Window is used to suggest something outrageous so that when people balk the issue can be dialed back to where the politician wanted it in the first place.

The left knows that it is in trouble for the election in 2012. Obama is on his way to being a one term leader and it is possible the Republicans will pick up 20 or so seats in the House and hit 60 seats in the Senate.

Governor Perdue of North Carolina suggested that the next Congressional election should be suspended for two more years to give politicians time to work on the economy. It is reported as a joke though she did not say it as a joke and asked for people to support the idea. Float the idea, create the crisis and then move in for the kill.

A few problems with this. If this issue were Constitutional I am not sure Congress would go for it. The Republicans do not want to suspend an election. Besides, why should we give a pass to the people who are causing the problems? Make them stand for election and let the people decide if they deserve to return to office.

This fits right in with the belief of liberals that we need less democracy in this country in order to get things done. Peter Orszag, former director of the Office of Management and Budget, believes that things are too mucked up and that we need less democracy to accomplish things. Gridlock and political stalemate is too much and should give way to systems that require less democracy.

Our country was founded with a system that is cumbersome and slow by design. Too much makes it through Congress as it is and making things easier by taking away governance with the consent of the people would make things worse. Sure, politicians would be able to get more done but at what cost?

We the People need to have control over government and not the other way around. To the Socialist progressives, this is not good. But it is in the best interest of the people and the country and we can never allow for less democracy which includes suspending elections.

Ever notice the Socialist progressives only come up with this when they do not have complete control? Less democracy would give them more control and that is what they want.

What we need is not less democracy but fewer Socialist progressives in office.

Social Engineering And A Waste Of Taxpayer Money

This video from 2009 involves members of Congress and the regime discussing the economic recovery plan (the stimulus) and how it should be spent. The video has comments inserted which are appropriate and worthy of discussion.

Notice how these folks are discussing how to spend our money and that the concern is that skilled white construction workers will get the jobs building bridges. The discussion is how to ensure people who might not have any skills get some of the recovery money. A video comment asks why don’t we hire the best people to build the bridge regardless of what color they are?

And excellent point except the stimulus money was not designed to stimulate the economy, it was designed to pay off political friends and to engage in social welfare. These people don’t care if bridges actually get built (have any been built) and they don’t care that bridges which might get built are built by people who are less skilled or unskilled so long as the money goes to minorities and other “disadvantaged” people.

Charlie Rangel starts discussing the flow of money and how the federal government is impeded by the pesky state legislatures. He says they need to come up with some method to bypass all that and force the states to take the money. This is how states get federal money with all kinds of strings attached. Robert Reich then says that it needs to be presented to governors and they can either sign or not but to hold them accountable.

In the end, Rangle assures everyone they will not have to worry about the middle class objecting because they will be too worried about putting food on the table and clothing their children.

In other words, don’t be concerned about the middle class. They will be too busy working to make ends meet to notice the social engineering taking place at the federal level with their hard earned money.

I guess Rangel was wrong. Looks like a lot of the middle class did pay attention and showed that in the 2010 election.

This is the goal of Democrats and particularly this regime. They want to redistribute wealth and they want to spend money on social programs under the guise of stimulating the economy.

Our families will have to drive over the bridges built by the least skilled workers.

Well, that sort of makes sense. This country (and by extension our families) is being led by the least skilled among us…
