It Will Not Be Single Payer Insurance
Aug 3, 2009 Political
The electorate is hopping mad about the out of control government and its plans for cap and tax as well as universal health care coverage. The people are out in force protesting and giving their Representatives and Senators holy hell. The people have a right to be mad because the government is working for a complete overhaul of a system so that about 12 million people who truly cannot afford health care are covered.
The government officials who discuss this boondoggle claim that it is not a single payer system and that the government will not put private insurance companies out of business. Obama tells us that if we like what we have we may keep it and that there are no plans for a government take over of the health care system. They deny that the goal is a single payer system.
The problem is, they really want a single payer system where the government runs health care. Watch this video and see how many of them have advocated for single payer in the past. look at how they tell us that the way to get to single payer is via the so called public option. These are their words and their words and they are telling us what the ultimate goal is:
The liberals commenting at Breitbart (where the video displayed) complain that the video is spliced together. To them this means that the video was chopped up to present the words out of context. This is untrue. There are clips from several different interviews that clearly provide us with the words spoken by Obama and other Democrats. These clips show us how their positions have been stated differently over the years but clearly indicate that the goal is a single payer system.
This video should add fuel to the fire because during this August recess the Democrats will be out in full force lying to us about this health care bill. They will tell us what they want us to hear but not what the truth is because the truth spells defeat for them and their plan to Socialize the country’s health care system.
Liberals never win when they present their true feelings. They win by pretending to be something they are not. Obama and the Democrats present a different picture of themselves when they are running for office because if they told us how they will actually do things they would not get elected.
They are liars and they will continue to lie to get what they want. They do not care about what we want.
Give them hell this August and make sure they know who the boss is. The links below are to meetings that have put the heat on Democrats over this issue. Continue that heat.
They need to have a miserable August.
Then they need to have a miserable election the next time they want renew their jobs.

Tim Bishop catches it as well

Obama Knocks Newsweek On Recession Over Cover
Jul 29, 2009 Political
Newsweek has a cover with a balloon containing the words “The recession is over.” Barack Obama poked a little fun at that cover in a town hall style meeting:
“I don’t know whether you’ve seen the cover of the latest Newsweek magazine on the rack at the grocery store, but the cover says: ‘The Recession is Over,'” Obama said, prompting chuckles in the audience.
“I imagine you might have found that news a little startling,” he continued, to more laughter. “I know I did.”
The last thing Obama needs is for people to be reminded that his 787 billion dollar stimulus did not work and that the economy is worse now than it was back when the stimulus was passed. Obama promised us unemployment would not go above 8% if it was passed and would hit more than 9% if it was not. His caveat was that it could go even higher if we did nothing.
They rushed the stimulus through and unemployment is 9.5%, there are no signs of recovery and those so called shovel ready projects have not started. Few if any jobs have been created and the dollar gets weaker by the day. Obama’s stimulus has been a failure and the Newsweek cover mocks this (though they might be sincere in their assertions).
So Obama poked a bit at the cover claiming the recession is over. In February, Newsweek featured a cover with the words “We are all Socialists now.” Obama made not one peep about that cover. He runs around claiming that those who call his health care plan Socialist are wrong but when a major magazine called us Socialists he never said it was not true.
He was quick to hit the one about the recession but silent about the one on Socialism. Perhaps it is because he knows the recession is not over but he wants us all to be Socialists.
I know Obama is a Socialist and that he is leading this country down the road to Socialism and that is probably why he made nary a peep about the Newsweek cover claiming that we are Socialists.
Sometimes silence speaks louder than words…

The Dumbest People In The Room
Jul 8, 2009 Political
Yes, it has come to that- those are the people we elect nowadays- the dumbest people in the room, the ones who sat in the back of the class, and slept through the classes on math, and history, because they were boring. These are the ones who either had rich daddies, or made a living selling drugs and scamming the other students.
There is a set of people who have a native slyness, one that allows them to sidestep the ordinary rigors of actually doing the work that needs to be done, finding instead ways for others to do the work, and for themselves to grab the credit. These are the people who have, by and large, been elected to office, with their main accomplishments being able to read from a teleprompter, or having been married to another slacker who had been elected president.
Biden’s main accomplishment seems to be that he rode a train without getting lost or falling off. Some of the others are even less clear on their positive benefits to society. Geithner? Sorry, he’s Secretary of the Treasury, and can’t even count- Janet Napolitano? She was a Governor of a border state, and was apparently blind to illegal immigration. What? Yea, you heard me- I said she wouldn’t know a Mexican if she was to see one, and she probably had an army of them sprucing up the Governor’s mansion.
Charlie Rangel? He is the one responsible for writing the tax code that you and I have to follow, but he apparently does not, with rental properties in the Dominican Republic, and leased cars going untaxed- why? His response was that he did not understand the tax code. What?
And all the “Czars”? The guy in charge of the cars has no knowledge of the auto industry, and all the rest do not know what they are doing- all they DO know is that they are to be loyal to the death for Hussein- okay, maybe not death- but then again, how do we know?
Hussein has been busy re-making America (at least the financial sector, so far) in the socialist image, where if you have spare money, well you might as well give it to someone poor, because the government surely will.
Barney Frank, the architect of the home mortgage meltdown, now wants to do the same thing for condominiums, asking Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac to loosen regulations so poor people can buy condos- this is how things got so bad in the first place- Franks forced the banks to loosen the regulations on home loans, which were guaranteed by Fannie Mae, because Barney Franks forced them to do so, and the whole house of cards came tumbling down.
If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result, Barney Franks and anyone else on the Banking Committee who agrees with him are insane. They should be wearing a special helmet and kept away from sharp objects.
And now Hussein “isn’t ruling out a second stimulus?” I’m sorry, but I feel the country has been over- stimulated as it is- the last thing we need is some know- nothing saying, “Spend mo’ money!” “Show me the Benjamins!” It is obvious that he is and has been over his head on virtually every issue except possibly planting Michelle’s garden- wait, that was her decision? Scratch that last comment.
Just how stupid do these people have to be before we say, “No, nope, they are too brain dead to elect them.” I mean, it is not like elective office is a playtime where they can eat glue and play with rounded scissors- if it was, it surely wouldn’t affect all phases of our lives as it does.
We need the smartest people in the room, not the dumbest.
Yet look at who we elected.

The Fourth Of Never
Jul 3, 2009 Political
Well, tomorrow is the fourth of July, a date that rightly should be celebrated by all here in this country, for without the Declaration of Independence, and later, the Constitution, we would not be where we are as a country, free to do pretty much what we wish.
This is one of the few nations where you do not have to feel confined or defined by what your father or mother has done in their lives. By this I mean that if your father was, say, a piano tuner, you are not obligated by necessity to follow in his footsteps. If you have a talent for piano tuning, and this is what you wish to do, you can make a living doing that- if you want to skateboard, well, find a way to make that pay- this is a country where you are only limited by the scope of your dreams and the tenacity of your determination to make this happen.
Or so it used to be. Now, it seems as if there are all kinds of roadblocks to progress being erected by the government, and our future has a few clouds on the horizon that we must heed, or we will find ourselves in stormy weather.
This country is under siege- the very foundations of this country are being stolen from us in much the same way that a pickpocket steals our money, by quiet thievery and subtlety. Capitalism isn’t just about the money, although that is what one thinks- it is also about the freedom to try and fail. Or succeed, which is the one thing that has made the United States the richest, most powerful nation on Earth. This is what has enabled us to become a nation where dreams can come true.
Socialism, which seems to be the next step in this progression Hussein is pushing, will of necessity, deprive us of some of our freedoms- oh, not all at once; as I said, this is a sneaky process, and these political pickpockets are relying on you to stay in front of your TV and just tune out anything unpleasant. I have spoken to many people who have told me that they don’t like to discuss politics, or that “History bores” them.
These are the people Hussein wants for his subjects, and believe me, “subjects” is the correct terminology here- with Socialism, Hussein will lead and feed the “masses”- all you have to do is give up those pesky dreams of becoming rich, and getting ahead, and providing security for your families. It’s nothing really, just ask Hitler, Stalin, or any of the other dictators- I am sure they would tell you that they were doing this “for the greater good”.
It is a dictum that government seeks to grow, and thereby limit freedoms, and so our founders put into place a system of checks and balances, whereby no single part of this government could have too much power. This is in imminent danger now, because of several things- one is the super- majority of Democrats; coupled with the Democrat president, laws can be passed and enacted with little to no control of a counter force, such as the other party.
But even this is not enough for the Resident, who has appointed “Czars”, people to oversee various aspects of our government and all of our lives. These “Czars” do not answer to Congress, as members of a President’s Cabinet must do- instead, they answer directly to the President and to no one else.
This alone is unconstitutional, and should have been nipped in the bud by the Congress, a political body that is generally jealous of any attempts to infringe on its turf, but they seem to be hypnotized by this pretender to the throne.
Another Constitutional problem has to do with the Tenth Amendment, that is, State’s Rights. By forcing states to take the stimulus, the Federal government believes that they gain some control over the states themselves, and this is not a good thing. States will ALWAYS know better than the Federal government what their citizens need.
Where are the politicians who know the Constitution and its limitations on power? Where are the people who actually want this country to remain a force for good in this world? We won’t be doing much of anything with the Resident in charge here, instead, our government will get larger, our freedoms a little less free, and our dreams will remain something less than possible realities.
This Fourth of July we should do one thing as we have our fun, and we eat our barbeque, and (hopefully) remember the original reason we celebrate this day.
We should take the time to read to our children the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, and become active in how our country works, and what should not be done, as well.
Because there is much here that should not be done.

Liberals eat their own
Jun 28, 2009 Political
In the run up to a vote on a healthcare bill that would break the bank, (at least the one that exists in liberal minds), several Democrats are finally beginning to have reservations about where the money is coming from- questions they truly should have voiced six months ago, when all this tax and spend action began.
Ben Nelson, Diane Feinstein, Mary Landreiu, have all been the targets of MoveOn. org and other socialistic organizations, including the SEIU, the union that does the cleaning in hotels, empties the trash, etc. This would be richly entertaining, but for the deadly seriousness of the situation our government finds itself in- besieged by special interests on the left. Lobbyists are creating attack ads against the members of their party that these Special Interests have deemed to not be in sufficient lockstep with the more liberal and socialistic among them.
The attacks — ranging from tart news releases to full-fledged advertising campaigns — have elicited rebuttals from lawmakers and sparked a debate inside the party over the best strategy for achieving President Obama’s top priority of a comprehensive health-system overhaul.
The rising tensions between Democratic legislators and constituencies that would typically be their natural allies underscore the high hurdles for Obama as he tries to hold together a diverse, fragile coalition. Activists say they are simply pressing for quick delivery of “true health reform,” but the intraparty rift runs the risk of alienating centrist Democrats who will be needed to pass a bill.
In recent days — and during this week’s congressional recess — left-leaning bloggers and grass-roots organizations such as MoveOn.org, Health Care for America Now and the Service Employees International Union have singled out Democratic Sens. Ben Nelson (Neb.), Mary Landrieu (La.), Ron Wyden (Ore.), Arlen Specter(Pa.) and Dianne Feinstein (Calif.) for the criticism more often reserved for opposition party members.
washingtonpost.com
I don’t know- did it not used to be that a person’s opinion was their own, and while one might disagree, one also respected the freedom to express said opinion? Well, apparently, according to MoveOn.org, not so much anymore. If a member of the Democratic Party is suspected of not toeing the party line very tightly, they are targeted for punishment. How communistic of you, comrade- I am sure your fellow travelers are wondering if the path they have chosen is worth the deceptions they have been playing on the American public.
The Web-based MoveOn.org plans to run ads this week against Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) over the issue.
“The Democrats were voted into office to fix this problem,” said MoveOn political advocacy director Ilyse Hogue. “It is absolutely our job to hold them accountable.”
One Democratic strategist who is working full-time on health reform was apoplectic over what he called wasted time, energy and resources by the organizations.
The strategist, who asked for anonymity because he was criticizing colleagues, said: “These are friends of ours. I would much rather see a quiet call placed by [Obama chief of staff] Rahm Emanuel saying this isn’t helpful. Instead, we try to decimate them?”
washingtonpost.com
Now that some of the Democratic party is beginning to have doubts, we will see the true nature of this beast we now call Liberalism. As the surrogates for Hussein, the MoveOns, the SEIUs, the ACORNs of this world ramp up their hate to whip their fellow dupes in line, the rest of America will be witness to the raw power grab this has become, as these people do all they can to subvert the Constitution by making laws designed to go around the Constitution’s true intent.
Will enough people wake up and heed the call to action, the urgent need to come together to save our Constitution? The Constitution has been there for us, in good times and bad, it has saved us from our excesses before, but never before have we been put to sleep with rampant consumerism, sitting in front of our flat- screen TVs, tuning out the real world, because it doesn’t fit into a half- hour sit- com.
Thomas Paine wrote of kings and royalty, “Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by importance; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions.”
Strong words- he could as easily have been talking about our “royalty” of today- the liberals who are pushing this suicidal agenda.
They are indeed, Legends In Their Own Minds, nightmares in ours.
