Ironies And Gall Surround Obama
Mar 26, 2009 Political
It is interesting to watch the MEssiah as he goes about his business because he is a complete contradiction to what he presented during the campaign. I believe that if he had discussed all this spending and had actually said what he was going to do he would never have won. The guy is hailed as a gifted speaker but as soon as he is away from a teleprompter he stutters and stammers and sounds like the years of drug abuse affected the speech center of his brain.
I think it is like watching a folly and it would be rather amusing if it were not so potentially fatal. His policies and his aggressive, steamrolling tactics are sending us down the path to hell.
Look at the irony of Obama and his cronies coming after those who don’t pay their taxes. Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal report that Obama is putting together a panel to overhaul the tax system so that they can get the 300 billion dollars that is not paid as it should be. Does it strike anyone as ironic that this statement is made?
“There are hundreds of billions of dollars in uncollected taxes each year,” Orszag said in a conference call. The Volcker board “will be examining ways of being even more aggressive on reducing the tax gap.” [Bloomberg]
The irony is that Tim Geithner was not the one who made the statement, Orszag was. Is it because Geithner was one of the tax cheats the overhaul is looking to detect? How ironic is it that Obama wants to go after tax cheats when the guy he picked to run Treasury is a tax cheat? How ironic is it that Charlie Rangel is a major tax cheat and is not being aggressively investigated? Obama wants new rules to crack down on YOU while the Democrats are full of tax cheats. How many of this guy’s picks had to bow out because of some tax problem?
It is amazing. It is like having a doctor who smokes tell you to give up cigarettes because they are bad for you or your pastor telling you to be faithful to your swife while he is having an affair. It is just wrong, it is hypocritical, and it is unmitigated gall.
I believe everyone should pay their fair share of taxes but I think members of government should be beyond reproach and this bunch is anything but.
Look at Obama’s press conference last night. I told you this guy would continue to blame Bush for as long as he could. It is interesting that he continues to blame Bush for the bad stuff but takes credit for the good stuff. If something good happens in Iraq we never hear Obama say that George Bush is responsible.
No, instead Obama will go on national TV and LIE. He said he inherited a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit. That is an absolute lie. Forgetting for a moment that Congress controls the purse strings, let’s look at the deficit numbers. At Gateway Pundit there is a chart that shows the deficit under Bush was slightly over 400 billion dollars at its highest point. The projected deficits for Obama are over a trillion dollars for the first two years and never drop below about 600 billion. The projection out to 2019 is just as bleak.
The numbers are only public debt and don’t include government to government debt or the numbers for everyone are enormous. Obama was lying when he said what he did or he was using a different set of numbers in order to make his case. The information comes from the Heritage Foundation and they report that Obama has quadrupled the debt with his stimulus package.
Obama also defended his reduction of the charitable contribution tax deductions for wealthier Americans saying that it would not lead to less money being donated basing this on some kind of evidence. I don’t really know what plant he hails from but on Earth the opposite has been demonstrated. As pointed out at Just One Minute (from a 2005 analysis):
The authors compile and contrast the results of a vast number of studies looking at the interplay of tax rates and charitable giving. Although people have many motivations for their philanthropy the conclusion of almost all of these studies points in the same direction – on net people give less when it costs them more.
Maybe on Krypton that is not a problem but on Earth people, even those who are very charitable, don’t give as much if it will cost them more. The Obama plan is a disincentive to give but then again, why would a liberal understand charity? It isn’t like they actually give much…
Finally, the lynch mob has taken its toll on one AIG executive. The New York Times published the letter of resignation of Jake DeSantis. Be sure to read his entire letter. The guy worked for a $1 a year based on the bonus that AIG was legally obligated to pay. Now Congress wants to take 90% of it as a punishment for a guy who had nothing to do with the problems and who stayed on to help.
I see more of these coming. In the end AIG will fail and we will be on the hook for billions of dollars. If we had let them fail in September we could have saved that money.

The Two Minute Drill
Mar 6, 2009 Political
A quick look around.
Obama can’t get over British Treatment of grandfather
When Kenya was under British rule the Brits evidently treated Obama’s granddaddy rather rudely. To return the favor Obama has treated the British PM the same way. Obama snubbed PM Brown by cancelling a press conference and then by having a half-hearted meeting. Brown gave The Evil Won some very nice, thoughtful gifts. Obama gave the PM a gift box of DVDs. They were American movie classics. As if Brown could not get them from about any source.
The Klingon First Lady saw her two daughters get nice clothing from the PM’s wife. She gave the Brown’s boys helicopter models of Marine One. Is there any doubt that the Obama’s hit the White House gift shop for these gifts?
It is one thing to hold a grudge. It is quite another to treat an ally badly while representing the country. I hope the Brits realize that the Obama’s attitudes do not reflect the attitudes of the entire nation.
Couple faces life in prison for tax evasion and police standoff
The Browns (not the visiting Brits) refused to pay taxes stating that they were unconstitutional. They then had a long standoff with police because they refused to surrender. They are now in jail and face life in prison:
The Browns virtually face life sentences if they are convicted of all of the charges against them. Ed Brown, 66, and Elaine Brown, 68, are serving 63-month sentences for tax-related crimes. One of the new charges – of possessing destructive devices – carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years in prison, on top of any penalties from the other charges. Concord Monitor
Meanwhile, Timothy Geithner heads the US Treasury even though he deliberately did not pay his taxes. Charlie Rangel and Tom Daschle are also not in jail though they, like others who Obama wanted to serve him, did not pay their taxes. What a country.
More on small businesses
There are many who think that the tax increases on those who make over $250,000 will not affect small businesses to any large degree. Time will tell but the Gateway Pundit has some interesting information on the issue.
Most people who have no problems with increasing taxes on the evil rich are those who think others should pay their way or the way of others. These are the folks who think it is OK for those of us who pay our mortgages on time to also pay for the homes of people who could never afford what they bought. There is something wrong with the psyche of a person who thinks it is OK to take the money that one person has earned and give it to others.
There are 5 computers in my house. Should I be forced to give a few of them to people who have no computers? We have two cars and there are people who have none. Maybe we should have to give them one of ours.
Where does it stop? How is it fair? Why should one part of society be compelled to provide for another part?
Why did we let liberals create a dependent class of people?
Will California Judges legislate from the bench, again?
Californians passed a law a few years back banning same sex marriage. The court struck it down because, they claim, it went against California’s Constitution. So, the voters went to the polls to vote on Proposition 8 which amended the Constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman.
Now there is another lawsuit and the court will decide if the change to the Constitution was legal, at least according to their rules. The state and its voters did it correctly but the outcome was not what a special aggrieved unit of victims wanted so off to court it goes.
Regardless of how one falls on this issue, the people of California expressed their will and they did it within the framework of their laws.
No court should undo that. Just because we don’t like the outcome does not mean it was illegal. Yahoo News
Joe the Plumber sues Ohio
Joe the Plumber is suing three Ohio officials for invasion of privacy after they went through his records illegally. Joe caught Obama exposing his radical Socialist agenda and that set off a firestorm of invasion of privacy and cover up.
The media went after Joe instead of the law breakers when this happened. If it had been some liberal who was wiretapped talking to Osama bin Laden the ACLU and every other victim enabling group would be having conniptions over the privacy issue.
Not so much with Joe. He exposed the Emperor as having no clothes.
The media also went after Joe because he owed back taxes. They treated him more harshly than all the tax cheats Obama has on the government dole.
I hope he gets a gazillion dollars.
Joe, if you do make sure you pay your taxes. Otherwise you might be selected to be in the Obama administration. AP
That is all for now. Feel free to comment or trackback.

Swiss To Punish US?
Feb 22, 2009 Political
The right-wing Swiss People’s Party (SVP) wants to punish the US for the pressure it put on the country’s biggest bank, UBS, resulting in the release of thousands of names of American clients who are hiding their money to avoid taxes. The SVP wants the country to refuse residents of Gitmo, something it has stated it might be willing to help with. The party also wants Switzerland to reconsider representing the US in countries where it has no diplomatic representation.
I can understand the party’s position but the reality is UBS was helping Americans break the tax laws. As far as what Switzerland does, that is their business.
What I want to know is who is on that list. I want to see the list of tax cheats made public so the rest of us who have been footing the bills can see who has been avoiding what the rest of us are forced to comply with. I think that if any elected officials are on that list then they must resign their positions immediately.
People on that list must also be forced to pay taxes with interest and penalties. They cannot get a Rangel, Daschle or Geithner deal where they only have to pay the taxes owed.
The government worked hard to get the names. The names cannot be hushed up. They must be made public.
