Attax On Media Matters
Jun 29, 2011 Political
The left wing group Media Matters exists to attack right wing news sources and to refute stories about people (and polices) on the left. The organization is biased and will defend a liberal (or liberal policy) and cast doubt on any accusation about the liberal (or policy) even when it is obvious that the liberal (or liberal policy) is wrong.
It should come as no surprise because this organization is set up to defend the liberal/progressive policies of the left and to cast doubt (or lie) about those on the right. It has a goal of bringing down FOX News.
I do not care what MM does because it has a right to exist and it has a right to say and write what it wants. It is up to others to wade through the lies and determine what is accurate and what is not. Or one could do as I do and ignore the site and what it writes. I only look at it when some liberal links to it to prove its point. You know how it is, a liberal finds a site that agrees with it and that site becomes the gospel for the liberal in question. All well and good.
I do however; have a problem with Media Matters being tax exempt. The organization does not meet the requirements for being tax exempt and it should not be getting away with, how should I put this so liberals will understand, oh yeah; not paying its fair share.
Charles Krauthammer is quoted in the Daily Caller as saying that Media Matters can be as nasty as it wants but it should not ask for government subsidies.
I know that it is a liberal organization so it would be nearly impossible for it to survive without government subsidy (see Air Amerika) though George Soros might throw even more money into the mix to keep his propaganda arm in service.
I also find it ironic (and hypocritical) that Media Matters is in business to push the liberal/progressive agenda and is on top of the phony stories about conservative tax policies or that the rich don’t pay their fair share blah, blah but is set up in a fashion so as to avoid paying taxes.
Typical liberal double standard. It should not be much of a surprise though considering the organization calls itself “Media Matters for America” and then proves daily that media only matters if it is left wing media. The cause of this nest of drones is to find conservative misinformation in print and broadcast media and to provide rapid responses to such misinformation. If media actually mattered then wouldn’t ALL media matter? No, this group does not care if you receive misinformation from the left because that helps to push the liberal agenda and helps them generate more mush heads who follow liberals.
So we should remove its tax exempt status and make it rename itself to “Only Left Wing Media Matters To Us.”

Where Is Dr. Obama’s Scalpel?
Jun 26, 2011 Opinion
Barack Obama told us that John McCain wanted to take an ax to the budget and that he, Barack the Magnificent, would take a scalpel and he would go line by line in the federal budget to make cuts. Two and a half years into his first (and hopefully only) term and Obama has failed to do much cutting.
The first thing he did was raise things about 25% and then pretend that he was making cuts by backing off that number making it appear as if he cut when he was well ahead of what was taking place when he took office. In his time in office the deficit each year has been in the trillions of dollars and there is no end in sight as Democrats work hard to spend more and more to satisfy their need to continue to spend.
Democrats gain constituencies by promising free stuff which is only free to the people getting it. The rest of us must pay the bills for the free stuff Democrats give away. The Stimulus was nothing more than a nearly trillion dollar slush fund to pay off Democrat constituencies. We are in bad shape and things are continuing to decline as the so called experts act surprised at the news each month that is always “unexpected”. Perhaps if the economic news continues to be unexpected and the experts can’t understand what is going on then it is time to find real experts who know what they are doing.
Obama is telling us now that cutting is not going to solve our problems and this is his way of saying that we need to raise revenue. Raising revenue is Democrat speak for raising taxes.
Half of the workers in this country pay more than enough in taxes. The other half pays little of no taxes to the federal government and many pay no taxes and get money from the government. This is total redistribution of wealth and it is what Obama thinks is just and fair.
How about we have a fair tax code that requires ALL workers to pay a portion of their income in taxes. Close the loopholes and make everyone who earns wages pay taxes. We will increase revenue and then the people who benefit the most from Democrat wealth redistribution plans will see that things are not free.
However, the most important thing we can do is cut the spending at the federal level. Obama promised to go line by line but all he has done is expand government. Cutting is the way to go and we need an ax not a scalpel.
The only revenue problem we have is that half the workers do not pay any of the revenue. The real problem we have is a spending problem and that is where we need real change we can believe in.

Raise the Limit so we can Spend Less!
May 5, 2011 Political
The incredible political posturing continues at full-speed in the US Congress. Well, of course it does, that’s what they do. Keep that in mind when any elected politician talks — he’s a politician, and he’s not going to speak the truth. And that statement in itself is a sorry statement on the government of this country. But that is what it is, and I can do little more than point out the lies.
For example, what’s with the new trend of Republicans to demand decreases in spending in return for a higher debt limit? How does that make sense to anyone but a politician? If you’re going to spend LESS, then why do you need a higher borrowing limit? What are you going to do with that extra money you borrow, if you’re not SPENDING it?
Of course, here’s the dirty little “secret” that not one member of Congress wants you to know: the current, sitting members of Congress, the people there RIGHT NOW are 100% responsible for every single dollar spent. That’s without any exceptions. This current Congress will vote on a budget, and they get to decide what’s in that budget — NO ONE else.
So if they wanted the federal budget to be one dollar, THEY HAVE THE POWER TO DO THAT. If they want to budget to be 14 trillion dollars, they will do that.
Do not listen to any Congressman who puts the blame on anyone else for a single dollar in the budget. If the budget passed is 14.3 trillion dollars, it is ONLY because this Congress wants it to be so.

This Is No Way To Balance A Budget
Apr 21, 2011 Political
Looks like the federal government is having trouble with simple math and accounting procedures. Politicians of all stripes talk about balancing the budget and living within our means but none of them have grasped the concept that if cash out is greater than cash in there will be a deficit.
Last year the government paid more out to people than it took in from taxpayers. People on some kind of government support amounted to $2.3 TRILLION. These social welfare programs cost us more money than the $2.2 TRILLION that people paid in taxes. That means there is 0.1 TRILLION dollars on the negative side and we had to spread that 0.1 TRILLION among all our other obligations. Yes, there was other income but not enough to account for the more than a trillion dollar deficit we ran last year.
We are at the tipping point where what we pay in taxes is about equal to what we pay out for social programs and this is not good. We cannot meet our other obligations with this kind of imbalance and as long as social programs are the sacred cows of the Democrats we will continue to run deficits until our entire system collapses.
We need to have serious reform of our temporary social programs so that there is no incentive to stay on them and we need to reform Social Security and Medicare so that benefits stabilize and the programs are eventually privatized so people can have a real return on their investments. We need to stop implementing programs that end up making people slaves to the government at the expense of the people actually paying taxes and end this cycle of ever increasing deficits as a result of poorly run social programs.
While Barack Obama is running around the country (ignoring the victims of the terrible storms in the South) to raise money for Democrats (and his reelection campaign) he is also giving speeches about the budget. His only answer is to raise taxes on the wealthy when this could never, ever solve the problem even if 100% of their wealth was confiscated.
Repeal the current tax system, implement a flat tax system (for everyone) with no loopholes, reduce corporate tax rates and close the loopholes in that system and completely revamp social programs while cutting out unnecessary programs and we can get back to sound fiscal footing.
Unfortunately, Obama seems to have been surfing instead of attending class as he suffers from the same knowledge deficit as those who think we can manage by spending more than we take in.
A hand up, not a handout…
In a related story, the government is on pace to hit the debt ceiling by next week. No Easter recess for them…

Pay Your Taxes
Apr 18, 2011 Political
Move On has a misleading post at its website that comes from Socialist Bernie Sanders and it is a list of the top ten companies that paid no taxes last year. I do not know if the companies paid taxes but if they did not then they worked within the tax guidelines set into law by Congress, of which Sanders is a member. If they paid no taxes because of the tax laws then this happened because of Sanders and the rest of the people in Congress who have given us a cumbersome and unfair tax system.
The misleading part comes in the introduction where Move On starts by indicating; “Come April 15, everybody ponies up their fair share, right?”
This is patently false but is designed to turn people against the big evil companies that paid no taxes. The lie comes in the question about everyone ponying up their fair share. The reality is that not everyone ponies up a fair share. The bottom 50% of taxpayers pay 3% of the taxes and most of the folks in the bottom 50% not only don’t pay taxes but, because of tax credits, they get money back. That is correct, they get all that they paid in during the year AND THEN SOME. If Sanders is looking for freeloaders then why does he not start with the millions of Americans who not only pay no taxes but get more back then they ever paid in? Why does he not worry about the billions of dollars we are losing 1) because people are not paying any taxes and 2) because taxpayer money is being redistributed to them rather than going to pay our bills?
While Sanders cries about corporations that paid no taxes (and the truth to that is yet to be seen) 45% of households paid NO income taxes in 2010. How can he be looking for freeloaders without looking at that 45%?
The wealthy in this country pay most of the taxes and though they have paid less in recent years everyone has paid less. That is, those who actually pay taxes have paid less. Those who pay no taxes actually make out in the deal because our government has made the IRS a big government wealth redistribution center where those who pay taxes send it to the government where the IRS takes it and redistributes it to those who paid nothing giving them a net increase.
If people like Sanders are concerned about the tax situation in this country then why don’t they sit down and make a serious effort to fix it so that it is fair and equitable to all and so that everyone pays a fair share?
The tax breaks for companies can be removed and the corporate tax rate reduced. The IRS can be eliminated by having a flat tax of 11% across the board for every person who earns income. MAKE EVERYONE PAY.
This would have to come with a rule forbidding Congress from raising the rates unless 75% of the House and Senate voted on it. While we are at it we could get a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution to force Congress to live within its means.
There are plenty of things that can be done to fix the broken system and set us on the path to prosperity.
One thing that is of no help is for people like Socialist Sanders to cry about companies not paying their fair share when they follow the rules people like Sanders implemented all the while ignoring the nearly 50% of workers who not only pay no taxes but get someone else’s money to boot.
The class warfare crap is no longer going to work. We will not sit around and listen to members of Congress whine about people who follow the very rules that Congress laid out.
Make it fair for everyone because the workers who pay taxes are tired of people piling on for our money while Congress pecks at our wallets like buzzards on roadkill.
Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
