The Two Minute Drill
Mar 6, 2009 Political
A quick look around.
Obama can’t get over British Treatment of grandfather
When Kenya was under British rule the Brits evidently treated Obama’s granddaddy rather rudely. To return the favor Obama has treated the British PM the same way. Obama snubbed PM Brown by cancelling a press conference and then by having a half-hearted meeting. Brown gave The Evil Won some very nice, thoughtful gifts. Obama gave the PM a gift box of DVDs. They were American movie classics. As if Brown could not get them from about any source.
The Klingon First Lady saw her two daughters get nice clothing from the PM’s wife. She gave the Brown’s boys helicopter models of Marine One. Is there any doubt that the Obama’s hit the White House gift shop for these gifts?
It is one thing to hold a grudge. It is quite another to treat an ally badly while representing the country. I hope the Brits realize that the Obama’s attitudes do not reflect the attitudes of the entire nation.
Couple faces life in prison for tax evasion and police standoff
The Browns (not the visiting Brits) refused to pay taxes stating that they were unconstitutional. They then had a long standoff with police because they refused to surrender. They are now in jail and face life in prison:
The Browns virtually face life sentences if they are convicted of all of the charges against them. Ed Brown, 66, and Elaine Brown, 68, are serving 63-month sentences for tax-related crimes. One of the new charges – of possessing destructive devices – carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 30 years in prison, on top of any penalties from the other charges. Concord Monitor
Meanwhile, Timothy Geithner heads the US Treasury even though he deliberately did not pay his taxes. Charlie Rangel and Tom Daschle are also not in jail though they, like others who Obama wanted to serve him, did not pay their taxes. What a country.
More on small businesses
There are many who think that the tax increases on those who make over $250,000 will not affect small businesses to any large degree. Time will tell but the Gateway Pundit has some interesting information on the issue.
Most people who have no problems with increasing taxes on the evil rich are those who think others should pay their way or the way of others. These are the folks who think it is OK for those of us who pay our mortgages on time to also pay for the homes of people who could never afford what they bought. There is something wrong with the psyche of a person who thinks it is OK to take the money that one person has earned and give it to others.
There are 5 computers in my house. Should I be forced to give a few of them to people who have no computers? We have two cars and there are people who have none. Maybe we should have to give them one of ours.
Where does it stop? How is it fair? Why should one part of society be compelled to provide for another part?
Why did we let liberals create a dependent class of people?
Will California Judges legislate from the bench, again?
Californians passed a law a few years back banning same sex marriage. The court struck it down because, they claim, it went against California’s Constitution. So, the voters went to the polls to vote on Proposition 8 which amended the Constitution to define marriage as between one man and one woman.
Now there is another lawsuit and the court will decide if the change to the Constitution was legal, at least according to their rules. The state and its voters did it correctly but the outcome was not what a special aggrieved unit of victims wanted so off to court it goes.
Regardless of how one falls on this issue, the people of California expressed their will and they did it within the framework of their laws.
No court should undo that. Just because we don’t like the outcome does not mean it was illegal. Yahoo News
Joe the Plumber sues Ohio
Joe the Plumber is suing three Ohio officials for invasion of privacy after they went through his records illegally. Joe caught Obama exposing his radical Socialist agenda and that set off a firestorm of invasion of privacy and cover up.
The media went after Joe instead of the law breakers when this happened. If it had been some liberal who was wiretapped talking to Osama bin Laden the ACLU and every other victim enabling group would be having conniptions over the privacy issue.
Not so much with Joe. He exposed the Emperor as having no clothes.
The media also went after Joe because he owed back taxes. They treated him more harshly than all the tax cheats Obama has on the government dole.
I hope he gets a gazillion dollars.
Joe, if you do make sure you pay your taxes. Otherwise you might be selected to be in the Obama administration. AP
That is all for now. Feel free to comment or trackback.

More Tough Times For The Evil One
Mar 5, 2009 Political
The hits just keep on coming. Barack Obama is set to spend even more money that we do not have on things we do not need. He is set to impose oppressive taxes on the wealthy, or so he says because everyone will be affected. Most liberals cannot see this and will likely not realize it until they are on a corner with a tin cup and dark glasses with a sign that says “Will Protest for Pot.”
Looks like Obama is in for a fight from his own party. Many Democrats do not like the limit placed on itemized deductions because they know most people will cut donations to charity first. Other than that they might jump on board with a tax increase because most of them don’t pay their taxes anyway. That is a prerequisite to serve in the Obama administration. [My Way News]
Looks like Israel has finally figured that Obama and the Democrats are not really their friends. They finally realized that Hillary Clinton is an ally of Palestine when she kept blasting Israel for problems related to Hamas’ constant attacks on Israel. Hillary is critical of checkpoints set up by the Israelis and thinks they give a wrong signal. Checkpoints were st up in the very places she opposes so that she could travel there. She wanted protection she wants to deny Israel.
Israel has come to the realization that if anything is to be done about Iran it will be a solo act. Israel will have to carry out a raid on the nuclear plant alone if she wants it accomplished.
Hopey Obama is too busy trying to meet with the rogue leaders so he is too busy to help Israel out. Sparks are going to fly soon. [Jerusalem Post]
Union leaders at posh hotel while workers are losing jobs.
AFL-CIO union executives are at a luxury resort in Miami. They are out living the high life while their dwindling membership continues to decrease. A lot of union members are not working and their leaders going out to a fancy place like this sends the wrong message.
I wonder if Obama will say something like he did when companies honored their corporate sponsorship agreements and went to the Super Bowl even though they took TARP money (they pretty much had to take it, even if they did not want to).
The unions have Obama in their hip pocket so there should be no problem. [Breitbart TV]
It is going to get worse. Obama has been on the job a little more than a month and he is starting to go gray.
He might be up to 2 packs a day by now.

The Obamination Continues
Mar 4, 2009 Political
Looks like the Obama express is sailing as smoothly as the Titanic. The Obama administration suffered a few setbacks in the past few days. These would be setbacks not including the dropping stock market that has lost about 3000 points or so since Obama was sworn in and over 6500 points (half of its value) since the Democrats took control of Congress in January 2007. The collapse happened after Democrats were in control. Make no mistake, everything that has happened since 1/20/2009 belongs to Barack Obama.
It is interesting that Obama is hell bent on destroying this country all in the name of making it a bastion of Socialism. He is attempting to tax the “wealthy” in order to redistribute the money to those who are not wealthy. It is exactly what he told Joe the Plumber he would do.
Obama hit a snag on taxes because Republicans oppose his tax increases and Democrats are not happy with the removal of some itemized deductions. They worry (rightly so) that it will lead to fewer donations to charities. They are correct, it will. Obama is also attempting to do things that will cost everyone more money in taxes. He wants to impose these environmental rules such as cap and trade which will drastically increase the cost of many industries. Those costs will be passed on to the consumer who will be paying a back door tax increase. The Obamabots including Geithner are still making the claim that there will be tax cuts for 95% of familes. 40% don’t pay any to begin with.
I want the Timmy Geithner tax plan. I don’t want to pay any taxes and I don’t want to be bothered by anyone telling me to pay them until Barack Obama selects me to be in his administration. Geithner is in charge of ensuring people don’t cheat on their taxes. That is like making Bill Clinton the chaperon in a girl’s dorm or Ted Kennedy the designated driver. [My Way News]
No Voting Rights for DC
The Democrats have been trying to get voting rights for DC. Yes, the people who live there have the right to vote but they have no representation in Congress or should I say they have no representation that can vote. The people of DC have been complaining about this for a long time and it looked like the vote on it might happen. It would have been overturned because it would be unconstitutional but that has never stopped the Democrats in the past. DC is not a state and only states have representatives.
This bill was pulled. Why would they do that? Was it because they realized it was in violation of our Constitution? No way. They pulled it because Blue Dog Democrats said they could not vote for the bill because it contained a back door gun control law. I told you the liberals were trying to impose gun control and they are slipping it into everything. The Blue Dogs were worried that the NRA would use the vote to give them all failing grades and they would lose their reelection bids in their fairly conservative districts. So much for principle. I would have respected them if they opposed it because, say, it was unconstitutional.
Here is how to solve the problem. Introduce an amendment and see if it can be ratified. It would take forever and I doubt it would pass but that is the appropriate way to handle this kind of issue. They could also make it illegal for DC to have residents. All folks would have to move to Virginia or Maryland or anywhere for that matter. That way they would not be taxed without representation.
That would be a bit harsh but we could do it without moving too many folks. Why don’t we follow the Constitution and make DC 10 square miles (Article I Section 8). The excess land can be moved back to the states that provided it and the tax base would belong to the states.
Who am I kidding? Why would Maryland or Virginia want to take on that kind of mess.
Regardless, DC is not getting a vote in Congress. Good. If they want the representation then they need to do it the right way and let the people decide via the amendment process. [Human Events]
The Russians have the same definition of bipartisan as the Democrats
Barry Obama said he believed in discussing things. He vowed to talk to leaders of hostile nations without precondition. He is a man who believes in diplomacy. Unfortunately, his idea of diplomacy is to bend over and grab his ankles. The US was to put a defensive missile shield in Poland. Russia opposed that and threatened to put offensive weapons in the region.
The Evil Won said he wanted to look into it. Poland did not want the missile defense to go away and Russia did not want it in the area.
Obama sent a letter to the Russian leader saying he was willing to put a stop to the missile defense if Russia would help the US with regard to Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Russia’s leader said that Obama’s willingness to nix the missile shield amounted to positive signals but that there would be no haggling. In other words, he said that the solution is we don’t put up the missile shield and Russia continues working with Iran to develop its nuclear capabilities.
The Russians are like Democrats. Bipartisan is when you do things the way they want. Obama just got slapped like punk kid. If I were he the missiles would be heading to Poland tonight. Obama will just end up giving in.
Did anyone tell Obama that the Russians have been helping Iran? [Deutsche Welle]
Not a real good past few days. The Dow continues to drop faster than Bill Clinton’s trousers and it would appear as if the government is going to need even more money to stimulate because the first batch spent is not doing very much (surprise) and people are really fed up. The Evil One’s approval ratings are dropping and he is meeting resistance within his own party.
He will be smoking unfiltered Camels by next week.

Why Can States Delay Your Refunds?
Feb 16, 2009 Political
First it was the state of California and now it is Kansas. These states are issuing IOUs for taxpayer refunds because they are out of money. A refund means that the taxpayer paid too much in and if that is the case why does the state not have the money? It is quite simple to answer. The states spend the money when it comes in and they have little regard for the budgetary process.
It is interesting to note that states with problems are run by Democrats either as the governor or as a majority in the legislature or both as in the state of Maryland whose fiscal mismanagement has led the politicians to depend on pork from the stimulus bill to avoid laying off employees.
Yes, the governor of California is a registered Republican and that is as far as he goes. He is a RINO and the state is run by Democrats who turn a blind eye to illegal immigration and tax residents and businesses so heavily that they pack up and leave. California is on the verge of financial collapse and it is mostly due to unsound fiscal policy and burdensome taxation.
I want to know what gives the state the right to delay paying you YOUR money? If you owe taxes they want them right away. Delay in paying your fair share will result in penalties and interest. Will these states pay penalties and interest to the people who are owed money?
Interestingly, a report from July 2008 discussed states with looming financial problems and several were noted as being financially strong:
States where the housing market is in a slump also are facing severe financial challenges, including California, Delaware, Florida and Massachusetts. To address the issue, many states have reduced their current-year revenue forecasts, in some cases several times.
However, says National Conference of State Legislatures Executive Director William “Bill” Pound, energy producing states appear to have a strong fiscal situation and a good outlook for fiscal year 2009.
This, Pound says, is the case for states like Idaho, Wyoming, North Dakota, Louisiana and Texas — though those states have no personal income tax or corporate income tax. San Antonio Business Journal
Several things come into play. The states doing well are energy producers. In addition, they have no personal or corporate income tax. States without energy production facilities would still benefit if they reduced personal and corporate taxes. Texas has done well for quite some time and a recent report indicates that even though the state feels the economic distress it is doing well because of sound fiscal policy.
States like Kansas and California would do well to pay attention. Imagine how well California could be doing if it allowed offshore drilling for the abundance of oil under its property. It would also do the state well to reduce taxes on its citizens and the businesses that remain there. Tax cuts always increase revenue. If the revenue is not spent recklessly then the result is good. Unfortunately, most politicians have not grasped that concept.
The federal government would have done well to follow the model of Texas and the others. Instead of canceling the oil exploration and drilling leases the feds should have gone ahead with it. That industry would produce plenty of jobs and it would help the economy. The stimulus should have included a reduction in the corporate tax rate. I think it should have been suspended for a year and then brought back to half of what it is now.
This would have stimulated the economy. However, the goal of the bill was not so much to stimulate the economy as it was to put special projects into place and to pay off political supporters. Very little in the bill will stimulate and certainly not nearly as much as cutting taxes and increasing domestic energy exploration and production.
Just ask Texas.

Future Generation Bankruptcy Plan Nears Passage
Feb 12, 2009 Opinion
Barack Obama’s Future Generation Bankruptcy Plan is closer to passage as the Senate and House agreed on a final bill. After some fireworks over who gets to spend more on what, the Democrats agreed to a bill and hope to have it on Obama’s desk by President’s Day. Reports are that no Republicans were involved in the negotiations. This bill belongs entirely to Obama and his Democrats so when it fails the blame belongs entirely to them.
Early word is that the concessions made to get three Republicans in the Senate to support it have been negated as those items previously removed were put back in. The three traitors, Snowe, Specter, and Collins, will see their work undone so they sold their souls for nothing. All of them need to be removed from the GOP and we need to ensure they are defeated in the next election.
As for the plan, it will spend a TRILLION dollars on a plethora of Democratic pet projects but create very few jobs. The economy will not be stimulated and we will pass on TRILLIONS of dollars in debt to people who have not been born yet. We have The Greatest Generation, Generation X, the Baby Boomers and now we will have Generation Broke.
The plan is carefully crafted to show results during next year when these people are pandering for votes but it is unlikely that the results will be very positive. Inflation will rise and the dollar will be worthless. Soon we will need a wheelbarrow of cash to buy a loaf of bread.
This is nothing more than Carter II and Obama will soon have unemployment and inflation that rivals that failed president. The coming misery index will make Carter look like a day at the beach.
It would appear as if America is about to hit rock bottom but that is what we need before we can dispense with these cockeyed schemes that have failed every time they have been tried. We need to have this kind of outcome so that we can, once and for all, put an end to government intervention.
Of course, there could be quite a bit of civil unrest before all is said and done. People in Kentucky are pouring bourbon on the steps of the Capitol to protest a tax increase on the booze. It is not the Boston Tea Party but it has the same purpose.
I wonder how long it will be before we are spilling blood?
If it gets real bad we can always declare open season on liberals. That would be a great stress reliever and loads of fun. Let’s start with Olberdouche just because it would be so satisfying.
Folks, it is going to get bad. When it does just remember that Obama and the Democrats brought you the misery. They will try to blame it on George Bush but this belongs entirely to them.
Write it all down and put it away for when your great great grandchildren are born. They will be Generation Broke and Generation More Broke and they will want to know what we were thinking. The should at least know that not all of us were insane.
They need to know about the failed presidency of Barack Obama because the history books will not discuss it.
