Until You Run Out…
Sep 8, 2014 Political
A quote attributed to Margaret Thatcher is; “The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.” For some reason the socialists don’t see it this way. It might be because the socialist politicians will not run out of their own money because any policies they enact would not affect them. Bernie Sanders is a socialist and he thinks we should tax the wealthy even more.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, a self-described socialist, called for a progressive estate tax on multi-millionaires and billionaires during a speech on Saturday. Washington Times
It is not bad enough that the wealthy pay the bulk of the taxes, Sanders would tax their estates (wealth that has already been taxed a number of times) to pay off the bills. Well, that is what he says but it just means more money for government to waste.
The wealthy follow the tax laws written by weathy people in Congress and those laws favor wealth because Congress critters do not like to pay taxes. They like YOU to pay taxes.
The best way to reduce the deficit and pay off our bills is to reduce spending.
It would also do us well to reform the tax code so that ALL wage earners pay a flat tax. Then the wealthy in Congress could not write laws that favor themselves and their friends and then scream about some alleged loophole when they want more money.
Sanders is an idiot who probably needs instructions to breathe.
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Taxes For You But Not For Me
Jun 17, 2014 Political
Liberals love to talk about disparity and wealth redistribution. People like Barack Obama like to say that at one point he feels you have made enough so you should pay more in taxes as if he is the arbiter of what is enough. He is not alone in the liberal world. Bill and Hillary Clinton love to discuss how terrible America is with regard to taxes and how the evil rich people should just pay more.
[note]The wealthy in this country pay most of the federal taxes in this country.[/note]
The interesting thing about all this is that these liberals do not put their money where their mouth is. John Kerry selected the box on the MA state tax form to pay at the lower rate and docked his yacht in another state to avoid taxes.
Barack Obama diverts some of his money to his children to avoid taxes on it.
Bill and Hillary Clinton, the liberal dream team, use every part of the law possible to avoid taxes.
Take the inheritance tax. That is the one where the government taxes your estate at about 40%. This means that after you pay taxes all your life the money that you already paid taxes on is taxed again at 40% when you die.
The government snaps 40% off the top before your heirs get what you left them. There are some limits so that only the higher estates are taxed but this is the group that liberals have been after all along and it is the group that many of them are in.
The Clintons are well into the 1% with their millions of dollars and their income is in the range they target when they espouse their redistribution schemes.
But, and this is a big but, when it comes to their own wealth the Clintons have set up trusts in order to avoid paying taxes. This is not to suggest they are doing anything illegal. The tax code allows it (and ALL politicians ensure the tax code helps their own wallets) and I have no problem with that.
What I have a problem with is that the people who are always demanding that the rich pay more are the very ones who work to avoid that same fate.
All wealthy politicians work to reduce their tax burden (as well as the wealthy in general) so Bush, Romney, Buffett, Obama, and Clinton all work the tax code to ensure their burden is as small as possible. Even Harry Reid who famously claimed that Mitt Romney did not pay taxes games the system.
The big difference for me is that Romney, Bush and other wealthy conservatives (or those at least more conservative than the liberals) work to lower the amount of taxes everyone pays so we can all enjoy the same breaks as they. Liberals, on the other hand, work tirelessly to increase taxes on the wealthy (and everyone else) in order to fuel their insatiable appetite for OPM (Other People’s Money).
If they are going to demand more be paid by the wealthy then they should pay the absolute highest amount possible and lead by example.
[note]Bill Clinton once said he did not pay enough in taxes as a rich guy but he sure works hard to pay as little as possible.[/note]
But they won’t because they are above the fray. They are special and we just don’t understand how it really is. You know, I even heard that Hillary and Bill left the White House dead broke. That little fact did not prevent them from purchasing a house that was more than a MILLION dollars or having one in DC that was about 5 MILLION.
No, they have no idea how life is for the real folks because these people have lived off the taxpayer for nearly their entire lives.
Now they take advantage of the tax system to avoid what they want to do to everyone else in their income brackets.
Can you say hypocrisy? How about elitist?
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
It’s A Spending Problem
May 13, 2014 Political
The liberals and their RINO buddies will tell you that they need more money. We have a deficit, they say, because there is not enough money and they concoct schemes to tax us now, spend less later and then eventually tax us and spend more.
The problem we face is a spending problem. It is as simple as that and the government demonstrates it when it releases revenue numbers. No matter how much money the government takes in it ends up spending more than that. There are a few times (mostly in April when tax returns come in) where they take in more than they spend but they spend the excess in a matter of days.
This April was only slightly different in that the amount that came in for the fiscal year was a record. Get that? The government received a record amount of money for the fiscal year so far at 1.735 TRILLION dollars. Even though the government had this record revenue it still ran a deficit of 306 BILLION dollars.
So let’s be clear. The government claims it needs more money so it should raise taxes. When it gets more money it still spends more than it takes in. So the problem is not that it gets too little the problem is that it spends too much.
There are many duplicated services that the government wastes money on and there are many programs that are not covered under the Constitution and belong at the state or with the people so government spends more than it should or is allowed to. These programs coupled with countless pork projects and costly give always results in a deficit and adds to our 17 TRILLION dollar debt.
They got more money and they spent more money. It is not theirs and it does not come out of their pockets so why should they care?
They view us as an ATM and keep taking from us.
The next time some politician tells you we need to pay more in taxes remind that person that they got more and they spent more. Tell that person to cut spending to get things under control.
Speaking of wasteful spending, the government has spent over 5 BILLION dollars on Obamacare websites. For 5 BILLION dollars the government could have hired all the tech wizards from Amazon, Facebook and Google to develop a top notch website.
Five BILLION dollars seems like a little bit in the overall scheme of things but 5 Billion here and 5 BILLION there and pretty soon we are talking about a lot of money.
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
Let’s Change Their Address To Jail
Mar 19, 2014 Political
CBO Director Douglas Elmendorf had some sobering words about the state of our fiscal health and is indicating that we will have to employ some combination of higher taxes, cutting spending or scaling back programs that have been robbed by politicians.
Elmendorf said that the growth in spending of Social Security and health care programs has resulted in “fundamental fiscal challenges.” He claims that we have the three choices outlined to fix the problem which exists because politicians took the money that people paid in and spent it on other things.
What he is basically saying is that you sheep paid into these programs and government spent YOUR money on other things and since government can’t repay what it stole YOU have to pay more in. You paid it in and now you have to pay again because they robbed you blind.
Imagine what members of Congress would do to a business that managed people’s money like Congress has managed ours. The legal eagles would be all over this and the person (or persons) who stole your money would be in jail.
Not so with our elected officials. They robbed you blind and they expect you to pay more to remedy their theft. They do not feel they should be held accountable for violating your trust. Yes, you did trust them. The government set up Social Security and forced people to participate. The promise was that if you paid a little in to the account each pay you would have money for retirement. Don’t worry; big government will look after your money until you retire.
Problem is whenever money sits around a politicians thinks it needs to be spent. So spend it they did and now the lock box only has worthless IOUs in it. The only way to replace the money you paid in is to take more money from you.
Of course, they will spend that as well.
We need to abolish the Social Security system. We can allow those on it or near retirement to stay in and they will eventually die off. The rest of us can put our own money away and when we retire it will be there.
Even though government robbed Americans of trillions of dollars people still think it is a good idea to have government in charge of health care.
What could possibly go wrong?
I think one change that Elmendorf did not address is the change that would help the most. We need a change of address for all the politicians.
That address should be a prison.
One run by Sheriff Arpaio…

Hollywood Libs Want Lower Taxes
Feb 18, 2014 Commentary
Liberals, particularly wealthy ones, are always screaming about the need for higher taxes. The wealthy love when taxes are increased because they generally find a way to pay less than the average person in this country.
Liberals scream for higher taxes to fuel the beast of government and then do things to avoid paying them. This includes moving to tax friendly states like Texas. The problem is that liberals run from the hell holes they created and then infect their new digs with the same brand of liberal lunacy that they tried to escape. It is like all the aliens who come here and then demand that we do things the way they did them in their home nation.
If you like it that way then don’t leave.
The Hollywood wealthy are begging the state of California to lower taxes in a move to keep the film industry in the state. It seems that many other places are offering tax incentives for the industry to move.
Liberals in Hollywood know they can’t compete so they want the state to step in and make staying more appealing.
The question I have for these liberals is if lower taxes is an incentive for you to stay then does that not mean lower taxes are good and will cause people not to look for a way out?
And if that is the case why do you continually scream for higher taxes?
After all, won’t lower taxes for everyone (and not just you liberal elites) provide incentive for everyone (people and businesses alike) to stay and contribute rather than looking for the exit?
Government has to be paid for so taxes are a necessary evil. But if we make everyone pay their fair share (like 10% for all income) and limit government by making it smaller and getting it out of our lives won’t it need less of people’s hard earned money?
And won’t people then have a reason to stay and contribute rather than suckle at the teat of government (read the taxpayer)?
If you don’t think so then please quit whining and for goodness sake don’t go to a tax friendly state and take your liberal madness there.
They don’t want it and do fine without it.
Otherwise you would not be worried about losing industry to them…
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.
