Happy 235th Birthday America
Jul 4, 2011 Political
Happy birthday to the greatest nation in the world, something we should never apologize for. May this birthday mark the resurgence of patriotism and defiance of those who would try to fundamentally transform this nation or change its founding documents in order to enslave our citizens.
Red Skelton’s 1969 description of the Pledge is right on and appropriate even after all this time:
God bless the men and women who serve in our nation’s armed forces and God bless those who oppose tyranny and refuse to allow our nation to continue down the path of government intrusion and control of its people.
Today we celebrate our Independence which started with defiance of authority by brave men who were tired of tyranny. Let us never fear government.
Let us make government fear us.
Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Power to the Jury
Dec 21, 2010 Political
A very nice story from Missoula District Court. The scare-mongering and gnashing of teeth is classic. The government employees cannot contain themselves because they’re terrified of the power of The People.
The story screams and whines about not being able to seat a jury in a case because the jurors, during questioning, wouldn’t do what the judge wanted. Yes, literally. The jurors were asked if they could convict a person for possession of 1/16 of an ounce of marijuana. If they would not, they were not allowed on the jury. In other words, if you won’t do what the judge tells you, he doesn’t want you on his jury.
The DA and other lawyers were irate and baffled. The writer of the article was angry. But know what? That is almost exactly how the jury is supposed to work. The only step missed was that the jury shouldn’t have been asked that question before the trial. Instead, the case should have gone to trial, all those jurors should have been put on the case, and then when it was time for a verdict, they could vote to acquit. In that case, justice truly would have been served. Instead, sadly, the defendant plead guilty to something.
If you are ever called to jury duty, know your rights. In most cases, the judge will openly lie to you. Sorry, but that’s the truth. Any judge who says, “As a juror, you are to judge the facts and not the law” is lying. You CAN and SHOULD judge the law. That’s your job as a juror. If you, personally, don’t like the law, you get to say NO. And no, you will not be prosecuted for it — no one has been (one was tried, but the judge lost the case eventually).
The jury box is one of the last defenses against tyranny. Judge the law — that’s your job.
In God Is Our Trust; Happy Independence Day…

Enjoy it while you still have it…
Happy Independence Day to all Americans in this great country. It seems rather strange to me that we celebrate our Independence after a victory over tyranny while experiencing that some kind of government tyranny in this day and age.
In 234 years we have gone from a new nation celebrating Independence to a battered nation whose Independence is teetering on the brink of extinction by an ever reaching government whose intrusion into our lives knows no bounds.
That is what we faced centuries ago and we prevailed. It will be a bit more difficult now because the enemy is within. It is insidious and it desires to “fundamentally transform” our nation into a bastion of Socialism. It desires to have government involved in every aspect of our lives. It desires to enslave us to government so that we will do the bidding of those in power.
That can never be allowed to happen. We must not go down without a fight or this nation, a nation smiled upon by God and born of liberty and freedom, this nation that has achieved more in 234 years than any other nation in history, this nation that has produced more and contributed more to the human experience than any other, will be but a footnote in a future history book.
The liberal/progressives have taken advantage of our weakened state to impose their anti liberty agenda. They have seized upon every crisis (whether real or manufactured) in order to ram a liberty killing agenda down our throats. They have taken advantage of our weakened state, a weakness they helped produce, in order to attack from within because they believe we will not be able to counter their assault. They are quite wrong.
To paraphrase Charlie Daniels; This Lady may have stumbled but she ain’t never fell and if the liberals don’t believe that they can all go straight to hell [from the song – In America].
So on this Independence Day when we sit around with family and friends celebrating the sacrifices made on our behalf let us vow to never let those sacrifices be forgotten. Let us vow to never allow our country to become enslaved again by any enemy, foreign or domestic.
Because we certainly have plenty of both.
If we shall falter it will not be without a fight.
Big Dog Salute to Kender.

I Don’t Worry About The Constitution – Phil Hare (D-IL)
Apr 2, 2010 Political
Representative Phil Hare, Democrat from Illinois was answering a few questions from constituents and when asked about the Constitutionality of the health care plan he said “I don’t worry about the Constitution.”
Here is a person who was elected to office and who took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution saying that he did not worry about the Constitution. Bingo.
None of them do.
When asked where in the Constitution Congress was given the authority to do what it did he answered that he believed that the Constitution gave the right to “Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”
That phrase comes from the Declaration of Independence.
Perhaps this explains why the Congressman does not care about the Constitution. Maybe it is because he swore to uphold it and has no idea what it actually says.
He is no different from any of the others who think they can do what they want without regard to our Constitution.
[note]If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no recourse left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual State. In a single State, if the persons entrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense. The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair.

Happy Independence Day
Jul 4, 2009 General
Happy Independence Day to everyone. For those of you who still believe in freedom. liberty, limited government and rejection of tyranny I wish you the very best.
For those of you who envision our country as the big government, over regulated, tyranny that Obama is giving us with his wealth redistribution and government take over-plans, I hope you enjoy the Independence that others better than you have given much to protect though I doubt most of you actually know what it means to be independent.
And for you global warming enthusiasts, if you go out to watch fireworks tonight, you are hypocrites.
Have a great day.
Say a prayer for our military and say one for our country.
