Surprise! Obama Is Out Of Touch

Barack Obama does two things very well. He campaigns and he vacations and he does both a lot. When he goes on his vacations we are told that he needs downtime and we are assured that he has a lot of technology that keeps him in control and in touch. It seems to me that in our world of technology there is no reason to doubt such a claim. In other words, the president can remain in touch with secure communications no matter where he is.
[note]As for needing downtime, does he really work hard enough to need a vacation? I guess 200 rounds of golf and endless fundraisers tend to take a toll on a body…[/note]
So if Obama is in touch with staff and has all the modern communication devices at his fingertips, why does he need to leave his vacation to return to DC to meet with staff? The Hill is reporting that Obama will return to DC from Martha’s Vineyard for what is described as a face to face with his staff.
Why does he need to have a face to face? He can communicate with them via the secure communications devices and save the taxpayer a lot of money. The cost for the roundtrip travel will exceed a MILLION dollars. If Obama must travel back then he is admitting he is out of touch with his staff. Seems appropriate given his lifestyle and ideology is out of touch with the rest of America
That seems like an awfully lot of money just to have a face to face with his staff particularly when he is able to communicate remotely.
Perhaps Reggie Love will be in DC and this is a million dollar booty call (another kind of face to face).
Or, perhaps Obama is going to announce some executive action on immigration or other issue. Since Congress is in recess now would be an opportune time for him to spring another rogue edict on the people. The Hill story states that Obama’s spokespeople say that they are not anticipating a major announcement but this is the Obama regime and it lies all the time. If it announced some executive action prior to his return to DC Congress would have time to react. If he just shows up for an alleged face to face he can make any announcement he wants and it will grow legs before Congress can react.
It is no secret that Obama intends to use executive action on immigration. He has not gotten his way from Congress and when that happens Obama uses his pen and his phone. The original timeline indicated he would take action after Labor Day but this is an election year and many Democrats facing tough reelection balked at the idea of doing this so close to the election. If he does it a few weeks early it will be old news by the time people start paying attention to campaigns which, by the way, is after Labor Day.
The low information voters will have forgotten all of this by the time they pig out on ribs and beer (no doubt paid for with EBT cards) and members of Congress will be caught flatfooted because they expected to take up the fight next month.
I suspect the face to face is a farce and there will be some major announcement. If that happens you can be sure it will be controversial.
Otherwise he would have waited.
This guy is lawless and he is imposing his will on the country contrary to the founding principles of this nation.
Of course all of this is speculation. For all I know he might just want to get away from that beast he is married to.
I imagine he is not the only one who would blow a million dollars to do so…

Especially With Someone Else’s Money

Moochelle Obama was talking to a group of child reporters and she told them that “splurging is the key to life.” She was talking about splurging or having an occasional snack so long as one eats healthy foods and exercises.
I know Moochelle was talking about food (and she likes to splurge on French fries and chocolate) but splurging is how she spends most of her life. I am not talking about food because I don’t care what she eats as long as she pays for it.
Which is the problem. She splurges on the taxpayer’s money. She takes a vacation about every other week and when she splurges like that it costs us millions of dollars.
So yes, she likes to splurge but she likes to do so when others foot the bill. I doubt she would be so extravagant if she had to foot the bill.
Liberals are like that. No cost is too high so long as someone else pays the bill.
Remember the liberals who had their insurance rate increase thousands of dollars because of Obamacare? Their response was that they knew it would cost money but didn’t think they would have to pay for it.
Liberals are always generous with other people’s money.
They like to splurge as long as you pay.
Look at any grocery store that accepts EBT cards and it is all the clearer.
Moochelle was telling the kids how to eat and live. To paraphrase Pink Floyd:
Hey Moochelle, leave those kids alone.
And leave our money alone as well.

Obama Is Generous With Our Money

Imperial Leader B. Hussein Obama went on vacation to his alleged home of Hawaii (he has a perfectly good home in Chicago, ask Tony Rezko) and a lot of taxpayer money was spent for him and his family to bask in the warm Hawaiian sun while the folks back east suffer the cold.
OK, so leaders deserve vacations. Perhaps though, the millions of people who are looking for work would just like the guy to work on the economy so they can earn money to pay their bills much less take a vacation.
In any event, the amount of money spent and whether it was a wise use of tax dollars can be debated from both sides with little resolve.
One thing is clear though, leaving Michelle Obama back in Hawaii so she can spend her 50th birthday with friends is not appropriate use of taxpayer dollars.
The Imperial Leader gave his wife a birthday present of allowing her to stay in Hawaii. The problem is that part of the cost (her security and travel) will be borne by taxpayers. The last time she traveled separately the estimated cost was between $63,000 and $100,000.
B. Hussein Obama is very generous with OUR money. Seems to me if he took a decision like this and there is no good reason for it (some emergency where he had to leave his family behind) that the Obama family should have to reimburse the government for the additional costs.
Liberals are always generous with other people’s money.

Let Them Eat Food Stamp Cake

The food stamp president, Barack Hussein Obama (mmm, mmm, mmm), will head off on vacation at the end of this year just as the alleged fiscal crisis that he and his Democrats allowed to happen comes into full swing. The messiah of the left will fly to Hawaii with his family at a cost to taxpayers of 4 MILLION DOLLARS.
Yes, while people are losing jobs, while they are suffering through the Obama economy, while they are trying to figure out what comes next, Obama and his family will be basking in the Hawaiian sun on the taxpayer’s dime. One would think that while so many Americans are suffering, so much so that they have not been able to take a vacation, Obama would stay closer to home and save the taxpayers’ money. OK, I would not think that of Obama. Only a leader would do such a thing and Obama could not lead a group of people out of a burning building unless he promised them Obamaphones for getting out.
Obama will not save taxpayers money because he thinks he is a King and that he is above it all. Hell, we have no money to pay the bills and he will waste 4 MILLION DOLLARS on a vacation.
Obama knows that taxing the wealthy more will not solve the fiscal problems this country has but he is pushing forward for those increases anyway. Spending and so called entitlement cuts are not on the table because Obama would rather tax the rich just for the fun of it.
I guess he needs to raise their taxes so he can pay for his vacations.
Obama has spent millions of dollars to keep his records sealed (hiding a Kenyan birth certificate is expensive). I think I know why he has locked his college transcripts away.
He failed economics and did not want anyone to see the failing grades. Too late Barack, we can see the failure each and every day.
While Obama and his family vacation like royalty America will be suffering. Let them eat cake!
At least his supporters can eat cake they purchased with food stamps.

As an aside, we have not had a budget in four years because of the Democrats. Why worry about it now? Let the tax cuts expire and spending cuts take place and let people deal with it the best they can. The media and the Democrat Party (but I repeat myself) will try to blame Republicans but who cares? The government gave us the fiscal cliff prior to the election and the people who voted put the exact same government in place. This means they were happy with how things were going. Let them feel the consequences of their actions…

Jay Carney Then And Now

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney did his best to sweep away criticism of Obama and his family going on vacation. He did this in response to a question by Jake Tapper asking why Obama was going on vacation when he vowed not to rest until the jobs issue is resolved:
[…]It is also, as I think anyone who has covered in the past, either in this administration or others, there is no such thing as a presidential vacation. The Presidency travels with you. He will be in constant communication and get regular briefings from his national security team as well as his economic team[…] Real Clear Politics
No one would begrudge our leader time off. It is a hard job and everyone recognizes that no president, in this administration or any other, is really off. These guys are really working and it is just wrong to say otherwise. What reporter or other American would question a president’s vacation time or say that there is a problem with president’s going on vacation?
Why, Jay Carney would.
Back in July, when they were planning what the President should do during his month-long vacation (as part of their effort to persuade the public that he wasn’t actually on vacation in the generally accepted sense of what vacation means — i.e., having fun and not working), the image-makers hit upon a clever idea. Every week, they decided, they would send the President somewhere outside Texas for a day or a day and a half to hold an event of some kind in which he would mix with “real Americans.” Time
So we should not begrudge Obama time off and to suggest he is vacationing (in the generally accepted sense of what vacation means) people should not criticize Obama because, as everyone knows, a president is never on vacation.
Except when the president is Bush and Carney is the reporter. Then it is a sin for a president to go on vacation and the photo-ops are just PR moves to make people think that he is not on vacation in the generally accepted meaning of the term.
Obama at Martha’s Vineyard is a working vacation and he is not really off. Bush at Crawford going out on photo-ops is a vacation and not real work.
See what a difference there is when it is a Democrat instead of a Republican?
All presidents work hard (though one might question what they are actually working at) and if they take time off, so be it. I think they and all members of Congress should stay in DC and solve our problems. They can take time off when they have actually earned it. However, all leaders take time off whether we like it or not or whether we think the time is appropriate or not.
The problem is, when Bush did it he was a lazy sloth who was really on vacation. When Obama does it he is not really on vacation because he still goes through presidential responsibilities while on his vacation. As if he is the only one and Bush never did the same.
One other thing; Carney goes on to say Obama is not out of reach and is not far from home. You know, he can respond on a moment’s notice.
So why did it take so long when the underwear bomber struck while Obama was on vacation?
How about we have the same standard?
Ole’ Jay was put in a tough spot by Tapper. Jay had to defend Obama for doing what he criticized Bush.
I love it when this comes back on them. They should call Carney the Press Sucks-retary and Tapper should be renamed Trapper…
