Federal Coercion Is Done With YOUR Money
Jun 1, 2015 Political
The federal government collects trillions of dollars in taxes from various entities including corporations and some people who earn income. About 48% of the population earning wages pay no taxes and often get back much more than they paid in.
The government uses this money to run the country, or it is supposed to. It usually spends the money in a reckless fashion and increases the debt to the nation.
One thing the federal government does with the tax money, money that comes from the states, is use it to force states to do what the federal government wants.
We are familiar with speed limits and how federal highway money is withheld if speed limits do not meet some federal standard. This is true with a number of things. The federal government takes money from the states and then says that it will give some back for one thing or another so long as the states abide by rules the feds want to impose.
This is also the case with the school lunch program. The program is designed to provide reduced or no cost lunches to children from low income families. The feds take money in taxes from the states and then send it back to the states to pay for the program.
But there is a catch. If a school system participates in the program then it is bound by the rules set forth by the federal government or it risks losing the money.
By participating in the National School Lunch Program, the school district must adhere to edicts handed down from Washington, D.C. [Linked article]
So if the feds say that schools can’t provide cake with lunch then they can’t. This idiocy extends to the classroom where the feds could say they can’t serve cake for birthday celebrations as well. As far as I know these are not the rules. I post them examples of what the feds CAN do.
A teacher in West Virginia is in trouble for giving wrapped candy to students as a reward for hard work and good behavior. That is a big no-no under the federal program. The teacher faces a fine or reeducation and the school risks losing money for the lunch program.
This is what happens when you get in bed with the devil.
Perhaps states should opt out of the program and stop sending money to the federal government for it. The states could set up their own programs and then reduce that cost from what the feds collect. I know it is much more complicated than that and that is by design.
If the feds can make every state and every person dependent on the federal government then it will have total control over every aspect of life.
This is what liberal/progressive/socialists on the left want. Unfortunately, it is also what many on the right want as well.
The government is not much different than the mafia in that it uses the same tactics to get what it wants. The only real difference is that the government has made what it does legal.
It is a shame the federal government uses coercion to force us to do things it wants.
It is a crying shame it does it with our own money…
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

The Second Amendment Is The Permit
Mar 2, 2015 Second Amendment
The West Virginia senate passed a bill that allows its citizens to carry firearms concealed without any kind of permit from the government. The issues is known as Constitutional Carry in that the only thing a law abiding citizen who is not otherwise disqualified from owning a firearm needs to be able to carry it is the existence of the Second Amendment to the US Constitution.
WV joins several other states that have done the same thing by recognizing that the existence of the right is the only thing needed to exercise the right.
No one should need a permit or a license or any other government approval in order to carry any firearm that the person is not disqualified from legally owning.
[note]”A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”[/note]
Yes, there are people who cannot own a firearm because they are felons or they are mentally ill. Those folks can have their rights restricted because they either have shown they are not to be trusted or they do not have the ability to understand and exercise the responsibility that goes with owning (and carrying) a firearm.
All others should need nothing.
WV is in the process of ensuring the people’s right to keep and bear arms, as protected by the Constitution, is not infringed.
No one has to jump through government hoops to exercise any other right and the same should be true for the Second Amendment.
There are plenty of states that have a lot of work to do in this area but it is good to see some of them leading the way.
Ever notice the places with the most stringent gun control suffers the most crime and the most violence (often from the very firearms that are “controlled”)? WV recognizes that criminals will not obey any law passed and that law abiding citizens should not be burdened with laws that do nothing to stop crime.
People should be free to carry or not.
That would make the country a much safer place.
Cave canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

Inmate Gives Criminal A Run In West Virginia
May 9, 2012 Political
Barack Obama is not well liked in West Virginia. His policies involving the coal industry, a major source of income for West Virginia, are unfriendly to the industry and people are not happy with him.
The criminal in the White House faced a rather unique challenger in the Democrat primary in West Virginia. A Texas inmate filed the necessary paperwork to be on the ballot in that state and was Obama’s challenger.
Keith Judd, who is serving time in a Texas jail, received 40% of the votes in the primary race.
That’s right, Barack Obama received 60% of the vote and an inmate received 40%.
The inmate gave the criminal a run for his money in a race that featured the equivalent of “no vote” for the incumbent. This is a pattern that has played out in a number of states only West Virginia is the first place where he ran against an inmate.
Incidentally, the inmate did better than people in other states who are running against Obama.
Obama lost West Virginia in the 2008 election to both Hillary Clinton in the primary and John McCain in the general election so it is very unlikely that he will take the state this November particularly with his stance on coal.
But it is a very embarrassing result for the Obama campaign and the headline splashed across Drudge draws more attention to it than the campaign would want.
This is even better than the picture of the empty seats Obama spoke to earlier this week.

Never surrender, never submit.
