Texas Regains Its Senses

Yesterday the news was out that a few schools in Texas were going to require children to learn the Arabic language and about Arabic culture. Let me be clear, this was not an elective offering, this was a mandatory class for children.
The school system imposed this requirement under a grant from The Department of Education which has deemed Arabic the language of the future. Parents of these children were caught off guard and said they knew nothing about this new requirement.
It looks as if, for now, the program is on hold. Seems the uproar has but the brakes on this whole mess.
As well it should.
I have no problem with children learning to speak Arabic as long as it is something they get to choose. Children are not forced to learn any other language and they should not be forced to learn Arabic. Most of the parents who objected did so based on this aspect of it.
If schools want to teach about Arabic culture then they can do so as part of a class that teaches about a multitude of cultures.
I have no idea why it is the federal government thinks that the Arabic language is the language of the future when the people who speak it are still living in the 7th century.
What I also have a problem with is The Department of Education has decided that it will force our children to learn a foreign language when our own government will NOT force immigrants to learn English. If you want to make this a better place then FORCE immigrants to learn English. Then we will never hear “for Spanish, press 2.”
Besides, the way America is going some form of Chinese will be the language of our future…
Cave Canem!
Never surrender, never submit.

“I have no idea why … the Arabic language is the language of the future when the people who speak it are still living in the 7th century.”
Great! Brilliant.
And why the school system teaches homosexuality is just as good as heterosexuality, or why feelings are just as important as logic, or that Joe McCarthy was chasing phantom communists, or that guns are what cause deaths by guns…
I think we need to allow whipping in schools again, and we should start by whipping the teachers and administrators.
This is ridiculous, and just reinforces my perception that North Texas, especially the areas near Dallas, are losing their minds, probably because of the snowfalls- too much cold makes people think insane crap, and learning Arabic is one of them.
It is not the LEARNING OF IT that concerns me- it is the REQUIREMENT
to learn it that boggles my mind. The school district must be insane.
This is also another (as if we really need it)strong argument for abolishing the Department of Education, which hasa done more to make our citizens stupid than forced reruns of “Roseanne” ever could.
The waste of money is vast and just reinforces the Stupidity at the top of this bureaucracy.
Reminds me of Walmart- I live near a freshwater lake, yet the squirrels at the Walmart Central Office have decreed that our store carry more salt-water items- total stupidity.
As long as the TSA agents vote democrat, as a whole, there is nothing that will be done. It is politics and that’s it…end of story.
Get mad, but we all will forget it in a manner of minutes. This poor woman will feel her pain for months.
Hard working, honest people need to get off their ass on the weekends and join the tea parties around the country. Let the bastards know we mean business..,..do it.
Howdy Joel- This is one of the reasons thatprivate companies have been squeezed out of the TSA business and the whole thing unionized- so they have another entitled class of Dumbocrats who will vote for their interests and noone elses-
I have a friend who is receiving SS disability benefits as well as his CWA union pension, and his answer to the problems facing our country todaywas, “wELL, i’VE GOT MINE.”
He seemed incapable of believing that it is NOT all about him.
