The Message or the Delivery?

Really? Does Obama really believe that the reason people don’t support him and his radical ideas is because his advertising wasn’t good enough? Does he really believe that everyone in America really, honestly want to be peons in a socialist system, but they’re all just mad because he didn’t “sell” it right?
Sometimes I wonder.
Certainly, Obama lives in another world. Reality is quite foreign to him, as is honesty. I don’t think he lies just to lie (like Clinton seemed to do), but I think he consciously lies to hide the truth. But I do wonder at what point he says a lie so many times that he, himself, actually believes the lie.
Just as certainly, Obama views everyone outside his “inner circle” as stupid. He clearly exhibits signs of “group think” wherein he believes that he is all-powerful and he believes he is smarter than anyone else on the planet. The concept of humbleness doesn’t exist in his world. But does he really believe that others want socialism just as much as he does?
I know in his twisted mind he believes that socialism will make things better for everyone. Of course, every experiment with socialism shows that socialism absolutely stinks and results in the deaths of innocents at the hands of government every time it’s tried. Sure, he believes that it’s only because the right people haven’t been in charge, and that HIS version will be better.
But does he really believe that America, as a country, really wants more socialism?
After all, for all practical purposes, we are a socialist country now. Sadly, I think the majority currently DOES want more socialism — but perhaps only because they don’t know what they’re asking for:
Make Mine Freedom

“It’s the packaging, not the message” is a Democrat mantra. Remember: They believe themselves to be both morally and intellectually superior to us bitter clingers; therefore, they can’t possibly be wrong on a matter of substance.
I don’t believe that he thinks Americans want to be socialists, but I also believe that he thinks the only reason we don’t want to be socialists is because we are too stupid to understand what is good for us. That is why he has to try to sell us on socialism in his mind, because he knows what is best for us and he hopes to someday make us see how brilliant he is.
True, Francis, the basis of their power is the idea that they believe they are smarter than everyone else. They are their own gods.
Could be, Dennis, but if that were the case, then you’d have to believe he is honest and truly believes he is doing good. I don’t see that. It could be true, but I just don’t see him being humble and honest.
This will of course fall on deaf ears but it’s worth mentioning again. Progressivism is not socialism. Social democracy is not socialism. There are certainly Democrats that are socialists, but Obama is not one of them.
There are certainly things socialism and social democracy have in common of course. Keep in mind though that every human is 99.9% the same DNA wise but that it’s the tiny differences that matter the most.
Do you think Democrats want the government to nationalize everything? Or are they simply calling to nationalize key pieces of an otherwise capitalist society?
It does not matter. Government does not belong owning companies.
It is not a function of government and there is no Constitutional authority to do so.
Progressivisim leads (or PROGRESSES) to Socialism. The things progressives want are what socialists want and the Socialists support the progressives. That will fall on deaf ears.
Follow the link. Note it is called “ISM.” That’s because no matter what new name you give it, it still sucks when compared to actual freedom.
“Progressivism” is a camouflage-word for American-style left-liberalism, with all its intrusions, taxation, hyper-regulation, and faux-“compassion” that invariably results in huge schemes to transfer wealth from the poor to the rich. In other words, “progressivism” is fascism under color of social-welfare engineering. And as such, it’s no more acceptable than “national greatness” fascism, wherever and whenever it’s been practiced.
You can’t prettify your amoral, destructive ideology by giving it a rhetorical patina of “progress.”
Big Dog: “It does not matter. Government does not belong owning companies.”
And I’m fine with that as a point of view but of course I disagree. Also we have to remember that the Constitutionality of it is for the courts to decide and they have both upheld and struck down such things in various forms over the years because every situation is different. Saying simply that across the board there is no authory is not accurate.
Big Dog: “Progressivisim leads (or PROGRESSES) to Socialism.”
Yes, and conservatism leads to right-wing authoritarianism, right? No. Progressives don’t want socialism.
You’d have to picture it as a venn diagram. Some of the things progressives want overlap with socialism but there are plenty of things progressives want that socialists don’t want and things socialists want that progressives don’t want. The left made this mistake under Bush where we spread around this idea that this is what the nazis wanted and this is what neo-conservatives want so therefore neo-conservatives are nazis. It was wrong then and it’s wrong now when you play the same game with socialists and Democrats.
Ogre: “Note it is called ‘ISM.’ That’s because no matter what new name you give it, it still sucks when compared to actual freedom.”
You mean even for conservatism, libertarianism, or constitutionalism?
Porretto: “In other words, ‘progressivism’ is fascism under color of social-welfare engineering. ”
It always comes back to progressives just being the special “social-facist-nazi-commi-atheists.” Essentially we are whatever it is you think you can make the public believe to hate us more in a particular election cycle.
Of course smearing us to win elections hasn’t really accomplished much to stop our movement from progressing forward. The majority of the public supports progressive policy in one form of another. They just don’t know it’s progressive because you’ve scared them away from it. That’s why even when Republicans run the government there is still a march toward progressive values.
I know. Let’s talk about armed revolution and bloodshed. That always excites you folks.
Adam- there is no need to smear you- the progressives do a swell job of doing that themselves.
Progressives want to repeal the 2nd Amendment, because they cannot help but shoot themselves in the foot.
